Karnataka School Education Department has issued an official order granting special permission to eligible teachers, elected office-bearers, parent-teachers, and selected students to participate in the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association's mega convention scheduled for July 11, 2026, at Tripurasini Auditorium, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru.
The large-scale gathering is expected to bring together thousands of government workers from all over the state and will include a felicitation ceremony for Karnataka's new Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, a student talent recognition programme, and an administrative workshop for teachers from selected districts.
A major Convention for Government Employees
The convention is organised by the Karnataka State Government Employees Association and is one of the largest ever held by the agency. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru.
The programme has been planned as a three-part celebration, comprising:
- A felicitation ceremony for Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
- A Pratibha Puraskara (Talent Award) ceremony to recognize outstanding academic achievers.

- Special permission for teachers and staff
In order to encourage staff to attend the convention, the School Education Department has issued an official order for all staff to be covered by the convention.
Although July 11 falls on the second Saturday, teachers and education department officials are expected to take on official duties. Because of the significance of this event, the department has granted special permission for those eligible to attend to not have to work and to continue their normal duties.
The order was issued after a written request from the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association and with the approval of the competent authority in the School Education Department.

The initiative aims to celebrate academic excellence while recognizing the contribution teachers and their families make to educational success.

Official Order Issued
The School Education Department said that the special permission has been granted after considering the association in terms of representation and getting the administrative approval.
As a result, district-level Deputy Directors (Administration) have been instructed to take appropriate follow-up action at the district level and to ensure that eligible participants can attend the programme without administrative burden.
The convention is to recognize academic achievement and to engage in professional relations among teachers and government workers in Karnataka. With thousands expected to attend, the event is likely to become one of the most important events organised by the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association in recent years.
