Karnataka has made significant progress in its statewide voter verification and electoral roll revision work. 99.96% of enumeration forms were handed over to eligible voters. The state's electoral rolls are being updated and made free from duplication before future elections, so the big campaign will be launched.
According to the latest official figures, the state has covered almost its entire electorate, one of the highest levels of form distribution achieved during the ongoing verification process.
Over 5.54 Crore Registered Voters
The Election Commission's data shows that Karnataka currently has a total of:

Enumeration forms distributed: 5,54,07,891
Distribution achieved: 99.96%
The near-complete distribution reflects the extensive efforts of election officials, booth-level officers (BLOs) and field staff who visited households across urban and rural areas of the state.
Large-Scale Digitisation Underway
As well as physical distribution, the digitisation of completed forms is progressing rapidly.

The digitisation process will help in faster verification, lower manual errors, and create a more accurate and transparent electoral database.
Online Applications Gain Momentum
Voter verification has also seen a lot of participation through digital platforms.

Online services have made it easier for voters to submit corrections, update personal information, and complete verification without visiting election offices.
Electoral Roll Revision
During the verification process, authorities identified several categories that need to be updated in the electoral rolls.
The latest figures include:
Deceased voters identified: 10,20,351
Voters permanently shifted from their registered addresses: 27,67,075
Removing the names of deceased individuals and those who have been permanently relocated is considered an important step in maintaining a clean and reliable voter list.
Officials had said that all changes will be made following the legal procedures in line with the legal process as they need to be verified.
Importance of the Exercise
The voter verification drive helps in strengthening India’s electoral system. The new electoral rolls are updated to ensure that only eligible voters are registered, reduce duplication, and to strengthen the overall integrity of elections.
Election officials have advised citizens who have not yet completed the verification process to cooperate with Booth Level Officers or use the online portal within the prescribed timeline.

The Election Commission will review the data collected in the future before publishing new electoral rolls. Citizens should check their voter data very closely and report any discrepancies during the claims and objections period, if they are announced.
