In a major rehabilitation measure for families devastated by the Karur stampede tragedy, the Tamil Nadu government has distributed government job appointment orders to 32 eligible family members of the victims.
The move is part of the state’s commitment to supporting families who have lost their loved ones in the tragic incident and to provide long-term financial and social support to come. The appointment orders were handed over to the government representatives at a ceremony.
Support Beyond Financial Compensation
Following the stampede, the Tamil Nadu government had announced an extensive relief package in place, which covered compensation, rehabilitation, and employment for the family members of affected people.
As a result of this promise, 32 people from affected families have received appointment orders for government jobs, providing them with stable employment and a source of livelihood.

“We need to make sure we have crowd management and public safety measures at large events so that the same tragedies won’t happen again,” the official added.
