Kollegala Drugs Party Raid: Bengaluru Rowdy-Sheeter Zaheer Arrested

The outskirts of Kollegala in Chamarajanagar district were the scene of a major police operation on Friday night, April 3, 2026, when officials broke up a massive drug party. The birthday of the renowned Bengaluru-based rowdy-sheeter Zaheer was celebrated and almost 50 people participated in it. A police team had to work hard to get there and found a network of drugs and high-profile connections on the site.

Medical tests confirm narcotic use. Party-goers were in a state of high intoxication, smoking Ganja (Marijuana) and Charas (Hashish). Police conducted mandatory medical screenings after the arrests of the partygoers and, of those who were arrested, 15 were found to have used drugs and were immediately arrested under NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances).

Resort Under the Scanner

The venue of the party has added a political dimension to the investigation. The raid took place at a resort owned by Faiyaz Khan, a prominent A1-class government contractor in Kollegala. Khan is thought to have considerable political power and is a close associate of several local Congress leaders. So far investigators are trying to find out if the resort management was aware of the illegal activities or if the premises were made for the rowdy-sheeter’s festival.

Family and Women Under Investigation. It was reported that the party was not limited to criminal associates; several members of Zaheer's family were also involved. The men were taken into custody for interrogation, and lady constables were also sent out to question the women at the site separately to determine their level of involvement.

Police Crackdown on Rowdy Activity. Kollegala Police have brought all suspects into the local station for further questioning. This raid is part of a broader state-wide crackdown on rowdy-sheeters who have been moving their celebratory activities to rural resorts to avoid the watchful eyes of the Bengaluru City Police.

"We are investigating the supply chain of the narcotics found at the scene. No one, regardless of their political or social status, will be spared if they are found to be facilitating such illegal gatherings," said one senior police official. The police are also looking at the guest list to identify other potential criminals who may have fled the scene during the first moments of the raid.
