KVS Class 1 Admission 2026: Lottery Results Declared Today; Check Selection Status and Next Steps

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) hereby releases the first provisional lottery results for Class 1 admission to the academic session running for the period 2026-27 on today and other parents can now obtain the results over the Internet to screen their child’s admission.

How to View The KVS Lottery Results

Parents and their guardians who registered for the session may want to check out the results through one of two basic forms:

  • Official Admission Portal: Visit admission.kvs.gov.in and sign in with a unique Login Code, the child's date of birth and their mobile number.
  • School Websites: Individual Kendriya Vidyalayas will also post the selection list PDFs to the ‘Announcements’ or ‘Admissions’ part of their own site.

Note for Assam, Kerala and Puducherry: Tomorrow, April 10th, 2026, the lottery results of the selected schools will be published at the time of elections to be held in these places.

Understanding Your Status "Selected" vs "Waiting list"

Once parents receive The outcome, they will be placed in situations whereby they have to deal with criteria that will influence the decision made:

  • Selected: Children have been shortlisted in provision. Accordingly, the parents had the task of reporting to the respective school for document verification within the time allowed.
  • Waiting list (WL): Child is in line. Selected candidates who do not complete their admission or opt-out shall have availability based on their rank.
  • Post-Lottery Number: Because this shows the remaining standing person after the computerized shuffle, it allows you to clarify the position of that individual in the aggregate selection process.

Final Registration Document

Parents could give original copies of each of the following documents in order to ensure a seat of the applicant. In case you cannot comply within the due deadline, it can lead to an immediate cancellation in your seat:

  • Proof of Age (i.e. a Birth Certificate) along with Residence
  • Recent Passport photo of the child
  • Caste Certificate(for SC/ST/OBC categories)
  • EWS/BPL Certificate(if applicable)
  • Service Certificate(for Category I to IV applicants)
  • Income Certificate(for RTE applicants)

Before the next round, your child’s name has to be verified in advance of the following round (if you lack the name of a child in the first round, please refer below to the schedule):

According to the admission order, Right to Education (RTE) candidates are the priority candidates that must be cleared to proceed to Service Priority Categories I and II, and fill in the gaps as required.
