The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a harsh attack on rebel leaders in her party who she said were free to join the BJP if they wanted.
At a meeting in Kolkata, Banerjee dismissed concerns over dissent within the party and said that the Trinamool Congress has enough capable leaders to fill any vacancies created by defections.

"I challenge them to join the BJP. I have no problem with that; in fact, I will be very happy. I have many people to fill their place," said Banerjee, poking fun at the rebel faction in the TMC.
Her comments come in the midst of political speculation about internal differences in the ruling party in West Bengal. Banerjee did not name any individual leaders in her statement, but her responses were seen as a statement to those who might have felt dissatisfied in the party.
