Manoj Tiwari, BJP MP for Delhi, welcomed the decision of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign and said that “Narendra Modi has been sensitive, responsible and accountable towards students” and he took all steps necessary for them to be satisfied”.
Tiwari told reporters in Delhi that he was impressed with the Prime Minister’s leadership and that the government’s action was in line with its policy to safeguard the interests of students across the country.

Students have not only been taught to feel the responsibility of the Prime Minister but also how sensitive he is to them. The way he’s engaging with them is entirely unprecedented.
His comments came just days after Dharmendra Pradhan announced that he had sent his resignation letter to PM Narendra Modi, which triggered strong political reactions from the ruling party and the Opposition.
Tiwari said every decision made by the Prime Minister is guided by the national interest and deserves public support. The response of the government is clear that it listens to the students’ concerns and is prepared to act when necessary.
Every decision of the Prime Minister is welcome. The students’ demands have been accepted, so the protest should now be withdrawn. The Prime Minister’s every word is firm and important, and students should respect the steps he is taking.”
The BJP leader challenged students and opposition groups to stop demonstrations, saying that the government’s actions had met their main demand. He pleaded for normalcy to return to the classroom and directed that from now on education and the development of the higher education system should be the focus.
The resignation comes after protests in the country over what is referred to as a “system” of examination in which students are not able to control their exams. Student organizations, political parties and civil society groups had earlier held protests seeking accountability in the Education Ministry and a wider set of reforms to restore confidence in competitive exams.
This has been a very heated political debate, and Opposition parties have cast the resignation as a result of sustained public pressure while BJP leaders have presented it as evidence that the Prime Minister is serious in taking action in the interest of students.
