A massive fire broke out at a factory near the Harola industrial area in Noida on Thursday, triggering panic in the locality and prompting a large-scale rescue operation. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the industrial building as firefighters rushed to the scene to control the blaze.
According to initial reports, several workers were inside the factory when the fire started, raising concerns that some employees may be trapped inside the premises. Emergency teams quickly launched rescue efforts while attempting to bring the flames under control.
Fire Brigade Rushes to the Spot
Multiple fire tenders from the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services were deployed to the location. Firefighters are working intensively to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings in the densely packed industrial zone.
Authorities have also cordoned off the surrounding area as a precautionary measure while rescue operations continue. Local police teams have joined firefighters to assist with evacuation and crowd control.
Cause of Fire Not Yet Known
Officials said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, preliminary suspicion points to a possible electrical short circuit or industrial equipment malfunction, which are common triggers for such incidents in manufacturing units.
Investigators will assess the factory’s safety measures, including fire exits, emergency alarms, and compliance with safety regulations once the situation is fully brought under control.
Rescue Operations Underway
Rescue teams are trying to reach workers believed to be trapped inside the building. Ambulances and medical teams have also been stationed near the site to provide immediate assistance to anyone rescued from the fire.
Authorities have urged people to stay away from the area to allow emergency teams to carry out operations without obstruction.
More details regarding casualties, injuries, and the number of workers affected are expected to emerge as rescue operations progress.
