Mysuru Bus Accident: KSRTC, City Bus and Private Bus Collide Near Alanahalli

An unexpected road accident involving three buses near Alanahalli in Mysuru was said to have caused public panic. The wreck was perpetrated within the premises of the Siddharthanagar Traffic Police Station, and consisted of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus, a city transport bus and a private bus.

In the first, a private bus suddenly applied the brakes on the road, sending a chain reaction. The bus behind did not slow down, instead striking the back of the private bus. A second later, a KSRTC bus approaching from behind the city bus struck the city bus too, which caused the stack up of three vehicles.

Witnesses described the sequence as a textbook case of rear-end collision, with the single sharp action triggering a cascade of impacts. The impact produced visible damage on all of the three buses, with a difference in appearance at the front and rear of all three. Yet authorities said there were no fatalities in the frightening episode.

However, some passengers, including passengers located behind the back of the private bus, received minor injuries. Nearby workers attended to them immediately. They were subsequently given medical treatment. The injuries had not been life-threatening; in most cases, victims were treated on-site or at nearby medical centres.

There were also temporary traffic jams in the area. The broken buses obscured one section of the street and excluded cars. Police cars from Siddharthanagar division reached the scene in no time and corrected the traffic situation and re-smoothed the traffic after clearing the vehicles. Preliminary estimates suggest that the sharp brakes from the driver of the private bus are the main cause of the accident.

Investigators will carry out an extensive investigation to determine whether the car accident resulted from the negligent act of overspeeding, as well as poor protection between cars. In heavy-density urban settings like Mysuru, experts in road safety suggest making space between vehicles.

Rear-end collisions are among the most common accidents, and almost all are preventable with better driving skills and awareness. The police have now investigated, taking a case. Officers also tell drivers to avoid chains of accidents (especially in congested areas). And while there are no fatalities, the entire accident is a stark reminder of what road safety means to you. Poor decision can end in catastrophe; Alanahalli saw three buses in a traffic accident.
