Mysuru will host the L-E-TAP Mysuru cycling event on October 4, with more than 1,500 cyclists and athletes expected to be in town. The event will be held from 6 AM to 10:30 am and traffic police will be conducting route changes in the city; drivers are advised to use other roads while the cycling competition is in place.
The cycling event will start from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and will pass through a number of important roads and junctions in Mysuru and around. Since a large number of cyclists will be travelling along the designated route, temporary traffic restrictions and diversions are expected at various places.
Police are calling on people in the vicinity of the road to help police or any other traffic officer and follow the instructions given on the day of the event. A driver travelling through the affected areas should plan and take a different route.
Cycling Route covering Major Mysuru Roads
The cycling route will start around Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and will proceed around Mysuru Palace, Devaraja Urs Road and Ramaswamy Circle as per traffic arrangements.
From there, cyclists will travel to 100 Feet Road and Gun House Circle, followed by Nanjangud Road. The route will continue to Rajahamsa Junction, Lorry Terminal, Chamappaji Road and CAR Junction.
The cyclists will then move on to Tavarakatte and then up Chamundi Hill. From Chamundi Hill, the route will continue through Uttanahalli and Hosahundi, eventually joining the Ring Road and reaching T. Narasipura Junction.
The cycling route will then extend to T. Narasipura, Suttur, Varuna and Hoshalli before turning around and moving back towards Mysuru.
On the return journey, participants will pass through Doctors Community Hall, Lalith Mahal Road, Sangolli Rayanna Circle, MRC Signal and Karanji Lake Bund Road. The cycling race will conclude on M.K. Irani Road.
Public asked to Use Alternative Routes
And because the event is part of the morning, in the morning, people using the affected roads may encounter traffic changes. The city police have advised drivers to avoid the cycling route during the event where possible.
There will be traffic officers at key junctions to control vehicles and manage the movement of vehicles in the way of cyclists to help manage traffic during the cycling event. Everyone is also advised to follow diversion signs and to follow traffic police instructions on road safety.
The arrangements are intended to guarantee that cyclists and other road users are safe while, at the same time, traffic can still proceed through other roads.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's Mysuru visit
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is scheduled to visit Mysuru district on 3rd October as part of his official programme.
The Chief Minister is expected to arrive by helicopter at the helipad at the government high school playground in Hitnehebbagilu, Periyapatna taluk at 11:30 am. He will then participate in the Praja Seva Andolana programme organised by the district administration.
Later in the afternoon, at around 3:35 pm, Shivakumar will chair a meeting at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium to review preparations and progress related to Mysuru Dasara 2026.
The review meeting will cover preparations for the upcoming Nada Habba and preparations by various departments and the development of projects related to the festival.
The Chief Minister is expected to leave Mysuru at around 5:30 pm and fly by helicopter from Mysuru Airport to Bengaluru.
In the same place, with the cycling event and official events taking place in Mysuru around the same time, residents and visitors are advised to keep track of traffic updates and plan their travel accordingly. With more than 1,500 participants, we expect to see a temporary change in traffic movement along some main roads on October 4.
