The police acted swiftly and captured the five accused within just four hours of the abduction, demonstrating commendable speed and efficiency in neutralizing the threat and ensuring the victim's safety.
The high-stakes incident unfolded late at night near the Heritage Club in Vijayanagar, Mysuru. The victim, identified as Lokesh, a resident of Vijayanagar 3rd Stage and a real estate businessman, was ambushed. Five individuals, using a Tata Sumo vehicle, forcefully abducted Lokesh as he was returning home from the Heritage Club. This swift, planned abduction set the stage for the crisis.
The situation escalated quickly when the kidnappers used Lokesh's mobile phone to contact his wife, issuing a clear demand: a ransom of ₹30 lakh for her husband's safe return. The distraught wife immediately contacted the Vijayanagar Police. Her timely information set the rescue mission in motion, requiring the police force to execute a rapid and strategic response.
The Mysuru Police immediately sprang into action, alerted and executing a swift, cinematic-style operation to track down the culprits. Investigations revealed that the accused had meticulously planned the crime, having followed Lokesh's movements for the past fifteen days leading up to the abduction. The police team, acting on intelligence, managed to track the kidnappers approximately 50 kilometers away from Mysuru in a daring chase.
The operation, completed in a remarkable four hours, culminated in the successful cornering and arrest of all five accused, ensuring the safe rescue of the kidnapped Lokesh.
