Passengers travelling by train between Bengaluru and Mysuru and on other routes in the Mysuru region should take note of service changes scheduled for October 2 and 3, 2026.
Work related to safety is being carried out at the Mysuru railway yard, which means that several trains are now being operated differently. 16 trains will be affected by this, some of them being cancelled completely, others partially, and some services will be diverted through other routes.
The changes are to facilitate the work in the railway yard and regulate train movements safely while maintenance is taking place.
On those days, passengers travelling need to check their train number, departure time, route, and stopping stations before starting their journey.
Which trains have been cancelled?
There have been several passenger services completely cancelled as part of the operational changes.
The 56232 SMVT Bengaluru–Mysuru passenger scheduled to operate on October 2 has been cancelled.
On October 3, the 56266 Mysuru-Arsikere Passenger and 56202 Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Passenger services have also been cancelled.
Now, if passengers have already booked tickets on these services, they need to make alternative travel plans.
Some train services may be cancelled
Some trains will only operate on a shorter route in addition to complete cancellations.
On October 2, the 66553 KSR Bengaluru-Ashokapuram MEMU will terminate its journey at Pandavapura instead of Ashokapuram.
As a result, there will be no service between Pandavapura and Ashokapuram for that train on that day.
The corresponding 66580 Ashokapuram–KSR Bengaluru MEMU will also change. The train will start from Pandavapura on October 2 and not Ashokapuram.
On October 3, the 66554 Ashokapuram-KSR Bengaluru MEMU will have its Ashokapuram–Pandavapura section cancelled.
The 66579 KSR Bengaluru–Ashokapuram MEMU will also have its service pattern changed on the same day.
Chamarajanagar–Tumakuru Passenger Service Changed
The 56281 Chamarajanagar–Tumakuru passenger will also be affected.
According to the information presented, the Chamarajanagar-Mysuru section of the service will be cancelled and arrangements made for the train to originate from Mysuru.
Passengers travelling between Chamarajanagar and Mysuru should therefore check the revised service details before travelling.
Murdeshwar Express Route Diverted
One of the significant changes is the 16585 SMVT Bengaluru-Murdeshwar Express.
On October 2, the train will run through a diverted route:
KSR Bengaluru - Nelamangala - Shravanabelagola - Hassan - Murdeshwar
Due to this diversion, the train will not have its scheduled stops at several stations on the usual route.
The affected stations include:
- Kengeri
- Ramanagara
- Channapatna
- Mandya
- Mysuru
- Krishnarajanagara
- Hole Narsipur
Passengers who usually board or alight at these stations should make alternative arrangements for the affected journey.
The return service, 16586 Murdeshwar–SMVT Bengaluru Express, will also be diverted.
It will operate through the Hassan–Shravanabelagola–Nelamangala–KSR Bengaluru route instead of its usual route.
This service will also not have scheduled stops at Hole Narsipur, Krishnarajanagara, Mysuru, Mandya, Channapatna, Ramanagara and Kengeri.
