Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said India has great potential to become a developed country last night at the Mission Karmayogi Regional Workshop in Vijayawada.
He highlighted the country’s economic transformation and said India’s growth story has changed significantly over the years.
Recalling India’s old economic image, Naidu said the country was once regarded as a slow-growing economy. But now India is one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, reflecting the progress over the past few years.
Naidu also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying it has helped build national pride and self-assurance. India’s progress was linked to the need for having the “right time, right leader and right place.”
The Chief Minister made these remarks during a regional workshop under Mission Karmayogi, the government’s initiative to build up public servants and make governance better.
The programme brings officials and representatives to the table to explore how to enhance capacity building in government institutions.

The workshop is about developing training institutions in government into better and strategic organisations. It also aims to foster competency-based learning and enhance the skills of the public administration officials.
Naidu’s talk on India’s economic progress was followed by the discussion of improving the administrative structure of India. Mission Karmayogi aims to produce a professional and citizen-oriented public service by training and equipping government workers with skills and competencies necessary for good governance.
The regional workshop also allows officials and experts to share ideas about training and how to enhance institutional capabilities and capacity to respond to changing administrative and developmental needs.
Naidu also referred to India’s potential to become a developed country and said India’s resources and potential were available. It is also his view that continued economic progress, effective leadership and better institutions will be at the heart of India’s development journey.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s address was in particular about the transformation of India from a slow-growing economy to one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. He said this journey demonstrates the scope of the country in terms of the long-term development.
The Mission Karmayogi workshop in Vijayawada therefore brought together discussions on economic aspirations and administrative capacity, with a focus on building a stronger and more capable public service to support India’s development ambitions.
