In a major step towards improving the infrastructure and connecting Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah laid the foundation stone for a major road upgradation project in Jammu. The project is part of a larger plan of the Union Territory government to modernise transport infrastructure, improve road safety and make it easier for the public, businesses and tourists to travel. It will play a vital role in boosting the economy of Jammu and Kashmir, promoting the movement of people and goods at an affordable price and providing a balance to Jammu and Kashmir.
The foundation stone ceremony was attended by senior government officials, engineers, local people and local representatives who welcomed the announcement of the long awaited infrastructure project. As a result, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told the crowd “we will continue to invest in public infrastructure for advancement of our country” so that the benefits are reached to all sectors of the society. There is no more than the foundation stone ceremony that signifies the beginning of a construction project which is a sign of the government's continued focus on infrastructure development as the basis for growth and social development. Road upgradation is so important in Jammu as it will improve connectivity, create jobs and make public mobility a thing to be done.
And if work is to start soon, government agencies will work to get it completed at a fast rate and at a low cost. And when it is done the new road will enhance Jammu and Kashmir's expanding urban surroundings that will further develop it.
