In the Vizianagaram district, the new airport will improve the air connection across North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and relieve the congestion at Visakhapatnam Airport.

Bhogapuram International Airport has been planned as a world-class aviation hub with domestic and international passenger traffic. So the project will help to promote tourism, trade, investment in business as well as economic growth in the region.

The airport is located near Visakhapatnam, one of the fastest-growing cities in Andhra Pradesh. It will give tourists, in particular those on the Araku Valley, Vizag beaches and Buddhist heritage sites, easier access to the airport and also to the industrial corridors around.

“We’re sure that the airport will be a gateway for international tourists and investors who want to travel to the state and look into what opportunities there are,” officials said.

Apart from improved passenger convenience, the airport will lead to increased employment opportunities in the construction and operating phases. Thousands of direct and indirect jobs are expected in aviation, hospitality, logistics, transportation, retail, and tourism.

The airport is currently equipped with modern passenger facilities, modern security systems, sustainable infrastructure and expansion potential.

Terminal facilities are planned efficiently, smart passenger services and eco-friendly features will have to be implemented in the airport to service the airline requirements over the coming decades.

Narendra Modi's visit is expected to be a part of the inauguration ceremony and launch of various development projects in Andhra Pradesh.

Senior Union ministers, government officials from the government of Andhra Pradesh, top government officials and representatives of a range of other development activities will also be present at the ceremony.

Bhogapuram International Airport project is one of Andhra Pradesh’s biggest infrastructure projects.

The state government hopes the airport will attract new investment, increase regional connectivity and spur industrial development along the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor.

Experts say the airport will complement Andhra Pradesh's broader vision of becoming a logistics and manufacturing hub. Greater air connectivity may also encourage multinationals, IT firms, exporters and tourism firms to be more active in the region.

Local businesses are also optimistic that increased passenger traffic will benefit hotels, restaurants, transport operators and small enterprises.

Both domestic and overseas visitors will be greatly benefited and cargo movement for agricultural and industrial products will be supported by the airport.

Bhogapuram International Airport is a step forward in improving India's aviation infrastructure in the first week of August.

Andhra Pradesh is one of the most backward states and the new airport will be an excellent transportation gateway for the development of Andhra Pradesh.
