A major development has emerged in the sensational obscene video case linked to former MP Prajwal Revanna, which had triggered widespread outrage across Karnataka.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed a detailed chargesheet before a senior civil court in Hassan in connection with the alleged distribution of pen drives containing explicit videos. The chargesheet reportedly runs into a massive 13,712 pages and names 52 individuals, out of which 39 have been charge-sheeted based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
The probe was initiated following a complaint filed by advocate Poornachandra, who was reportedly associated as a JD(S) agent during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
According to the SIT, the accused had purchased nearly 70 pen drives locally in Hassan to circulate the videos. The investigation includes statements from 277 witnesses, along with strong technical and forensic evidence. Reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory have also been used to substantiate the charges.
The chargesheet names several key accused, including Naveen (A1), Karthik N (A2), who was reportedly a driver for Prajwal Revanna, Chetan BC (A3), Chetan YS (A4), and Likhith Gowda (A5). Notably, individuals linked to both BJP and Congress have been named among those against whom allegations have been established. Reports also indicate that allegations against BJP leader Preetham Gowda and MP Shreyas Patel have been substantiated in the chargesheet.
Investigators have confirmed that some of the accused allegedly recorded videos of women without their consent using mobile phones and later distributed them via pen drives and other digital means. Evidence also suggests that certain individuals shared these videos directly from their mobile devices.
Interestingly, while Prajwal Revanna has been mentioned in connection with the case earlier, his name is reportedly not included in this particular chargesheet. This has raised questions and speculation about the course of the investigation and potential future legal proceedings.
Further developments are expected as the case proceeds in court, with authorities likely to continue their investigation into the matter.
