First, we can describe a disturbing incident to the reader which took place at S. Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences at T. Begur near Nelamangala in Bengaluru Rural on 25 March 2026. A professor made a proposal to a young female student in the classroom. The student was hurtled, so that in seconds she and fellow students confronted him and attacked him. Video of the incident went viral in waves and quickly went viral and drew widespread protests to social media and news outlets.
According to news of Mohammed talking with a student as he told her that he was speaking to a student during their class for the first time, the professor spoke out to the faculty member. He claimed she replied that she had said yes and she had given the same but rejected this reply, but that student didn’t hear it but disagreed with the proposal during school life of a professor, and Mohammed said she had earlier accepted the proposal which went against what she’d given to her and the professor himself. The students reacted quickly: They were also hitting the professor with a slipper and even using it (as for example as there is another video in the video made public in the viral video).
The woman student, backed among an array of peers, accused the professor of misconduct and harassment and she had to stand up for her. Their anger grew to their fists and got out in a physical challenge and classroom tension was just out of control. Students in the video are reacting with fear and the video shows the professor is able to try and defend himself as he is surrounded by his students.
Mobile phone footage of the incident flew back and forth on the web and social media users expressed shock at both the professor’s actions and the violent responses of students. The professor’s actions were condemned, some claimed that the students were responsible and others said the reaction in general was right. The video has raised the specter of ethics, discipline, and accountability in the classroom: a study of college campuses.
Still, the college administration is not issuing any statement on the subject. But in the very near future some sort of internal hearing shall take place. And school authorities could decide whether to expel this professor and why. The whole thing raised serious questions of keeping people safe and professional relations in classrooms.
The Bengaluru medical college case is again a tragic example of boundaries and respect and responsibility as in education. In class, a professor’s proposed offer to a student generated instant violence and shake-up in the campus and generated national attention. The case will be studied and we can take this incident and see the implications for making that better in an education setting so that students in those schools are safe and professional while there won’t be such an incident.
