The deceased has been identified as Aamad Sheikh, also referred to as Aamdbhai Sumarbhai Sheikh, a resident of Mahamadi Bagh on Vavdi Road. The incident happened on a busy road and was captured by CCTV cameras, with footage of the accident subsequently circulating online.

According to police and the CCTV images, Sheikh had stopped his scooter by the roadside when the heavy crane came from behind. The crane allegedly struck the scooter, causing Sheikh to lose his balance and fall onto the road. The heavy vehicle then ran over him, resulting in critical injuries.

Sheikh suffered severe injuries in the accident and died at the location, according to the authorities. The collision led to a probe into what happened before the accident, how the crane was operated, and what happened just before the accident.

The crane driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving the heavy vehicle behind. Police have registered a case in connection and launched efforts to find and track the driver. Investigators are looking at the evidence, including CCTV footage, to determine the sequence of events that led to the fatal collision.

The body of the deceased was sent for a post-mortem examination. Police are expected to collect medical and forensic evidence, as well as statements from witnesses who may have been there on Mavdi 80-Foot Road when the accident occurred.

The CCTV footage will be vital in the investigation. Sheikh stopped his scooter near the road before the crane approached from behind. The footage reportedly shows the heavy vehicle making contact with the scooter, leading to the fall and collision. Investigators can use this footage to reconstruct the accident and determine the movements of both the scooter and the crane.

The accident has also raised concerns about the positioning of heavy construction vehicles on busy urban roads. Hydra cranes are large and heavy vehicles generally used for lifting and transferring materials. Since these vehicles are so heavy, collisions with them can be fatal, particularly if smaller two-wheelers are involved.

Sheikh worked in drilling-machine repair and was the sole or primary income provider for his family. He is survived by four young daughters. His sudden loss has left his family devastated, with relatives and residents mourning the death.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation. Police are still searching for the crane driver, who allegedly left the vehicle at the scene. Vehicle documents, the crane's mechanical condition, driver-related records, and other evidence may be examined as part of the investigation.

Road accidents involving heavy vehicles can happen for several reasons, including visibility difficulties, traffic conditions, vehicle maneuvering, roadside parking, and driver behavior. However, the exact cause of this accident will be established only after the police investigation is completed.

Such footage can be of great value to investigators, but the complete sequence has to be verified by witness accounts and other evidence before conclusions can be reached.

The accident has caused Aamad Sheikh’s family to suffer a terrible loss. His four daughters were left without their father after the fatal collision.

Police are still searching for the missing crane driver and trying to understand what caused the accident. Evidence collected about the accident, such as CCTV footage, post-mortem findings, and witness accounts, will be used for further investigation.
