Details of the Complaint

The latest complaint was filed by a 23-year-old woman who submitted her grievance directly to the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, Sunny Joseph. The complaint alleges that Mamkootathil exploited her using his political status and position.

The KPCC has taken the matter seriously and has officially forwarded the complaint to the State Director General of Police (DGP) for immediate action and investigation.

In her detailed complaint, the woman accuses Mamkootathil of establishing contact with her and repeatedly sending her messages expressing his intention to marry her. When she informed him that she would convey this matter to her family, he allegedly pressured her to meet him in person first.

Allegations of Sexual Assault

The situation escalated when, according to the woman’s account, Mamkootathil then took her to a homestay-like building. The woman explicitly alleges that she was sexually assaulted against her will at this location.

The complaint shockingly mentions that she sustained physical injuries during the assault. The woman maintains that the assault took place despite her explicit protests and resistance. She alleges that the MLA systematically used his position and the promise of marriage to manipulate and exploit her.

Background of Prior Allegations

This is not the first instance where Rahul Mamkootathil has faced such serious charges. The complaint itself references that Mamkootathil had been previously accused in multiple other cases of sexual harassment. The mounting allegations of serious sexual misconduct are what ultimately led the Congress party to take stringent action and expel him from the party organisation.

The Kerala Police have initiated an inquiry based on the complaint received from the KPCC and the matter is currently under investigation.
