Sourav Das said that government representatives held another round of talks with protest leaders yesterday, with the meeting focused on the withdrawal of cases against protesters, their release and legal assistance for those affected.
After discussions, Das said, "Government representatives met us again yesterday." The meeting lasted for two to three hours during which both sides discussed the implementation of assurances related to the ongoing protest movement, he said.

Das said that during the meeting, government representatives shared copies of notifications issued by the Bihar and Assam governments. According to him, these notifications include the withdrawal of FIRs registered in connection with the protests and the release of detained protesters.
He said: “The meeting lasted 2 to 3 hours. They shared copies of Bihar and Assam Government notifications guaranteeing withdrawal of FIRs and release of all protesters."
But Das said that protesters have sought similar commitments from other BJP-ruled states where cases were registered during the demonstrations.
"And we want similar notifications from other BJP-ruled states as well. They said it will come immediately," he said, meaning that discussions are still ongoing with the government.
As Das said, the guarantees made at the meeting are being closely examined by the protest leadership, which is seeking a uniform implementation of the commitments in all states where protesters face legal action.
He also said a legal support mechanism for those involved in the movement would be developed.
"We will also form a legal team to provide assistance," Das said, and that the proposed legal team would help protesters navigate legal proceedings and provide support in matters related to FIRs, bail and other court processes.
The latest talks come at a time of continuing efforts to resolve problems related to recent demonstrations. People involved in protests have been talking to government officials about legal cases, detained people, and attempts to restore normalcy.
