The Incident

Singh was sitting with a friend in a local park on Monday afternoon. A boy approached him in distress, calling out for help because his sister was being harassed by several young men nearby. Singh, acting as a Good Samaritan, confronted the group, threatened them with police action, and chased them off. However, later that evening around 8:00 PM, the suspects returned seeking revenge.

Four to five youths ambushed Singh with knives in the same park. Witnesses and police reports state that Singh was stabbed 14 times in the neck, chest, and abdomen. Hearing his screams, his wife, Aarti, ran to the scene and discovered him lying in a pool of blood. Upon arrival at BK Civil Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Investigations by Police and Arrests

The Palla police have filed a murder case after a complaint made by the victim's brother. The main suspects have been identified as Sonu Khan and Tushar, who were reported to live in Girdawar Enclave and are described by officials as "anti-social elements" in the neighborhood. Although the suspects initially fled the scene, police have conducted multiple raids to recapture them. One associate was caught by colony residents and handed over to the police, where he reportedly confessed to the crime.

Community Outrage

Jai Singh, the youngest of three brothers, is survived by his wife and two young daughters. His death has caused enormous pressure on the Girdawar community to ensure that justice is served and to support capital punishment for the perpetrators. This tragedy reflects an alarming increase in concern among community members who are combating public street harassment and local offenders in the NCR area.
