Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay took the pitch in Tamil Nadu for his political campaign. The actor-turned-politician used the emotionally charged speech to directly address the personal and professional controversies that have roiled his approach into the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
“They Are Blocking Jana Nayagan”: Vijay on Film Delay
In response to the indefinite delay of his much-anticipated last film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, Vijay claimed there was a political conspiracy. The film features Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, and was originally set to be released in January but has been stymied by the CBFC.
They Know Who’s Blocking This Film
When they couldn’t stop me from meeting people, they tried to stop my film,” Vijay said. “They are drafting new rules and SOPs with me as the target just so I don’t make the masses aware. But you cannot separate a leader from his people.” Personal Life Divorce and Rumors of Trisha Krishnan.
Vijay, who spoke publicly about the viral rumors about his personal life, responded for the first time. The marriage divorce of his own wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has been on rumor, and some allege his relationship was with actress Trisha Krishnan. Vijay shrugged off these reports as a calculated "30-day election strategy" on part of his opponents.
On Rumors: His rivals did not spread anything malicious about those close to him until the last month of an election and he told them this. He stated that, even after a series of "trials and pain", the ties between himself and the public remain unfaltering. The Karur Stampede, and the Political Storming and Repression.
Vijay also returned home to the deadly Karur stampede of September 2025 killing over 40 people in a TVK event. Although the ruling government and police blamed the party on being mismanaged, Vijay said the episode became a “heavy weight” to crush his political ethos. He thanked people for standing with him despite the "malicious theories" floating by the opposition.
Scathing Attack on MK Stalin
The TVK chief didn't mince words when he attacked the regime that was ruling DMK. Referring to Chief Minister MK Stalin's alliance as a ‘Cash Box Alliance,’ Vijay alleged that the current government rests upon "looted funds” and corruption. ‘For others, it is simply another election. This is an emotion for me and the TVK,’ Vijay continued, asking the audience to embrace his 'Whistle' icon to ignite a 'corruption-free revolution' in Tamil Nadu.
