The much-anticipated biographical drama White, starring acclaimed Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey as the global spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, has completed dubbing and is set to be released on its theatrical launch date, March 7, 2019.
The movie's makers said dubbing was completed on Guru Purnima, describing the occasion as a symbolic and auspicious moment for a film with spirituality, peace, and humanitarian values.
Vikrant Massey Becomes Challenging
Vikrant Massey is known for delivering some of the most demanding roles in the last few years: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on screen. Playing a globally recognised spiritual leader requires authenticity, emotional depth, and dignity, and the filmmakers have expressed confidence that Massey has done justice to the role.
The actor's transformation and performance are expected to be the biggest highlights of the film.
More than a Biopic
Producer Mahaveer Jain has said that White is more than a biographical film. The film is about peace, compassion, dialogue, and humanity, things that are never more necessary in the world that we live in today, where there are conflicts and divides in society.
The film aims to demonstrate how peaceful engagement and spiritual values can contribute to resolving some of the world’s most challenging conflicts.
Focus on Colombia's Civil Conflict
Instead of covering Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s entire life story, White focuses on one of the most important chapters of his humanitarian work—his efforts connected to the Colombian civil conflict, one of the world's longest-running internal armed struggles.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s role in promoting dialogue and reconciliation during a period of prolonged violence is explored in the film. The filmmakers hope to portray that non-violence, communication, and mutual understanding are the keys to peacebuilding.
International Talent Behind the Film
White has a very international cast and technical crew. The cinematography has been handled by Juan Carlos Gil, who has worked on the acclaimed series Narcos.
The film also features Darío Yazbek Bernal from Mexico and Jaime Newball from Panama in the production, adding a global dimension as well.
The project is directed by the celebrated advertising filmmaker Montoo Bassi, and Siddharth Anand, Mahaveer Jain, and Peacecraft Pictures have also backed the film.

White will be released worldwide in many Indian and international languages in the near future, the production team added. With dubbing now complete, the film is currently in post-production.
