The accused was Chintada Ravindra, who was in the Indian Navy, and working at INS Dega on one of the days, he said. His wife was going to her parents’ home if he was there, he said, but he could call the victim, identified as Mounika, to his house.

A report finds Ravindra and Mounika have been in contact through a dating app after meeting on the dating site in 2021 and are now friends. The relationship developed over the years and they met frequently and they used to call each other the person they meet.

The day of the incident Ravindra invited Mounika for dinner to spend time with him. But what began as a casual meeting resulted in an argument which turned into violent; the accused had already attacked the woman so he fled and she was killed.

Ravindra allegedly stabbed Mounika during the violent attack, his police report says. In an attempt to dispose of the body and mask the crime, he then dismembered her body. Reports indicate that others were packed into bags and disposed of in various places, and some in a refrigerator on his own.

We came to know after Ravindra himself approached police and confessed to the murder. The victim had taken ₹3.5 lakh from him and even threatened to expose her relationship to his wife, said Ravindra. A similar argument occurred on the day that led to the fatal attack.

When police arrived at the home several of the body parts had been removed from the home and refrigerator. But some parts remained missing including the victim’s head. That fact, which authorities believe were disposed of somewhere else by another party of people who disappeared with it, is leading the investigators to go after these remains.

One murder case against Ravindra has been registered and Ravindra is under police custody. Police are still investigating to find forensic evidence and validate the claims of the accused.

With the incident resonating across the city, problems with domestic violence and violence against the other party are being reported from all angles. The police promised the proper legal action will take place based on the investigation, the official said.
