The wedding of Indian women's cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal continues to be a subject of intense speculation, particularly after the ceremony, originally scheduled for November 23, was abruptly postponed. Amid swirling rumours that the couple had finalized December 7 as their new wedding date, Smriti's brother, Shravan Mandhana, has stepped in to set the record straight.

Shravan Mandhana officially confirmed that the rumours circulating online are untrue and that the families have not yet finalized a new date for the wedding.

Dispelling the December 7 Rumour

Addressing the ongoing media reports, Smriti Mandhana's brother stated clearly, "I have no idea about these rumours. As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed." His statement puts to rest the latest batch of unverified information that had gained traction on social media platforms.

The Sudden Postponement

The high-profile wedding celebrations in Sangli were halted on November 23 after a sudden medical emergency involving Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, who was rushed to the hospital with heart-related symptoms. The cricketer, prioritizing her father's health, made the decision to postpone the ceremony indefinitely.

In a stressful turn of events, groom-to-be Palash Muchhal was also briefly hospitalized shortly after, reportedly due to stress and exhaustion caused by the sudden crisis. Both families have since confirmed that both individuals have been discharged and are currently recovering.

Silence Amidst Speculation

The absence of a new confirmed date, coupled with the couple's decision to delete several wedding-related posts (including the proposal video) from Smriti's social media, has fueled numerous other unverified rumours and speculations online, which the families have generally chosen not to address publicly.

However, family members, including Palash's mother, have emphasized that the postponement was solely due to the health emergencies and that the wedding is very much on track to happen soon, once the recovery is complete and a new date is mutually agreed upon.

For now, fans and well-wishers will have to wait for an official announcement from the Mandhana and Muchhal families regarding the rescheduling of the wedding.
