Several football fans who purchased premium ZEE5 subscription plans to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 have alleged that they are unable to use the platform's promised multi-device streaming feature, raising concerns over the streaming service during the tournament.
ZEE5 is the official digital streaming platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in India. However, multiple subscribers have taken to social media claiming that despite paying for plans allowing simultaneous streaming on multiple devices, they have struggled to watch matches on more than one screen.
Times Now Digital has reviewed screenshots and videos shared by users, but has not independently verified the authenticity of all the claims or media circulating online.
Users Allege Multi-Screen Access Not Working
According to several subscribers, the issues began shortly after the tournament kicked off on June 11, 2026.
Users who purchased the ₹799 three-month "FIFA World Cup 2026 + All Access" plan, advertised as supporting streaming on up to three devices simultaneously, claim they were later restricted to a single device.
Some subscribers also alleged that logging into a second device automatically logged them out of the first, while others reported receiving repeated "Device Limit Reached" error messages despite subscribing to premium plans.
Many fans say they specifically opted for the multi-device package so family members could watch different matches simultaneously.
Timing Adds to the Frustration
With the FIFA World Cup being hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico, many matches begin late at night in India.
Subscribers say the inability to stream on multiple devices has created inconvenience for households where different members want to watch separate matches or follow the tournament from different locations.
Several users also claimed that customer support responses from ZEE5 appeared generic and failed to resolve their issues.
Subscription Plans Under Scrutiny
When the World Cup subscription packs were launched, ZEE5 advertised:
- ₹799 FIFA World Cup 2026 + All Access Plan – Up to 3 screens
- ₹1,699 Annual Plan – Up to 4 screens
However, users allege that around the tournament's opening weekend, the effective streaming limit on the ₹799 plan appeared to drop to a single device, contrary to what they believed they had purchased.
ZEE5 Yet to Respond
many mainn stream media said it sought clarification from ZEE5 regarding the reported streaming issues, including questions on how the platform intends to resolve customer complaints, restore confidence among subscribers, and prevent similar problems during future sporting events.
At the time of publication, ZEE5 had not responded to the queries. The report noted that it would be updated if and when the company issues an official statement.
Until then, the allegations remain claims made by subscribers and have not been independently verified. If confirmed, the issue could become a major concern for football fans who paid for premium access expecting uninterrupted multi-device streaming throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026.
