There are two new options to choose from for affordable holiday plans, with the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Budget Tourism Cell going to launch tour packages to Lakshadweep and Hyderabad.
The new packages will be officially launched on September 22. Apart from the tours, KSRTC will also introduce a dedicated online booking and waiting-list system similar to the Indian Railways reservation system.
The Lakshadweep package will be the first flight-based tourism package of KSRTC. Four days and three nights will be spent from Kochi, with Agatti and Kalpitti islands to visit. There are many places for accommodation, sightseeing, and water-based activities included in the package.
KSRTC Hyderabad tour packages: Itinerary and Attractions.
KSRTC has prepared two options for travellers visiting Hyderabad. Both packages include accommodation, meals and entry fees to the tourist attractions listed. Accommodation will be provided on a triple-sharing basis.
The longer option is a three-day and two-night package that covers some of Hyderabad’s major attractions: Nehru Zoological Park, Birla Mandir, NTR Garden, Ambedkar Statue, Lumbini Park, Hussain Sagar, Ramoji Film City, Hi-Tech City, Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, Chowmahalla Palace, Mecca Masjid and Charminar.
A shorter two-day and one-night package is also available. It covers Golconda Fort, Salar Jung Museum, Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Lumbini Park, Hussain Sagar, Birla Mandir and Ramoji Film City.
The Hyderabad tours will leave at 3 pm on the first day and return on the fourth day, depending on the package and itinerary. Travellers should keep in mind that there will be some personal expenses which will not be covered. Mobile phones, bags and footwear at some attractions will now have to be paid separately.
Lakshadweep Package: Agatti And Kalpitti Islands
For a beach holiday, the Lakshadweep package offers a four-day, three-night trip from Kochi by flight.
The package covers Agatti and Kalpitti islands, and travellers can choose between homestay and resort accommodation. The package includes the Lakshadweep entry permit, airport transfers, twin-sharing accommodation, meals, Wi-Fi and travel insurance.
Agatti’s beaches and sunset views are included in the itinerary, along with a boat cruise around Kalpitti Island. Travelers can also take part in snorkelling, glass-bottom boat rides and kayaking. Dolphin and sea turtle spotting are also included.
Adventure activities like scuba diving and parasailing will be available at additional charges. Scuba diving will cost Rs 4,000, and parasailing will cost Rs 3,500.
Vegetarian meals can also be requested, but travellers need to mention their preference at the time of booking.
The Lakshadweep package is estimated to cost around Rs 30,000 per person, but the final price could be different depending on current airfare prices. We include permits, transfers, accommodation, food, Wi-Fi, and insurance in the package.
How to Book KSRTC’s Lakshadweep and Hyderabad tours?
KSRTC will introduce new dedicated booking software and packages on September 22. Travelers will be able to book tourism packages online, and there will be a waiting-list feature.
For booking and information, we refer travellers to the KSRTC Budget Tourism Cell at 7907273399 or 9961228777.
Travellers should note that the full package amount has to be paid on the day of booking. Children over two years of age will be charged the full airfare for the Lakshadweep flight component.
Lakshadweep travel can change with weather, and passengers are advised to follow safety advice from officials. Travellers are also advised to carry their regular medicines.
With these packages, KSRTC is expanding its Budget Tourism Cell beyond road-based trips. The Lakshadweep package, in particular, is the Corporation’s move into flight-based tourism, while the new online booking and waiting-list system is expected to make reservations more convenient for travellers.
