2026 Renault Kwid Facelift Launch Tomorrow: New Design, Bigger Touchscreen, Expected Price & Features

Renault India will introduce the 2026 Renault Kwid facelift on July 3, the hatchback’s first major update since its launch in 2015. Almost a decade after it disrupted the entry-level hatchback segment with its SUV-inspired styling, the Kwid is finally getting a complete makeover to keep it competitive with the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, S-Presso and Tata Tiago.

The facelift is the first to present Renault’s new design language, heavily influenced by Dacia Spring, a European electric hatchback which shares a platform with the Kwid. The biggest visual upgrade is on the front, where the hatchback has Y-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) connected by a slim grille with Renault’s new logo. The headlamps are positioned lower in the bumper in a more contemporary and aggressive manner and thick black cladding around the lower air dam retains the SUV-inspired design of the Kwid since it first launched.

From the side, the overall silhouette is still the same but Renault has made some new wheel cover designs and a blacked-out C-pillar to bring it up in profile. At the rear, the facelift has redesigned Y-shaped LED taillamps that create a more premium look while keeping with the front lighting signature. Another practical addition is a rear wiper with washer function that was not included in the outgoing model.

Renault will provide the biggest upgrades in the cabin. The current infotainment system will likely be replaced with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster is also expected to be included to keep the Kwid ahead of the competition, as well as the next generation of cars.

The feature list also includes automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging, and a push-button start/stop system, though Renault has not yet announced these features, and with the launch date to be announced officially.

With the most recent updates, safety has already made significant improvements with the current Kwid currently having six airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, hill-start assist, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The facelift could enhance safety further with an updated body structure for better crash protection, along with front parking sensors and rear fog lamps.

Mechanically, the hatchback is expected to be the same. Power will likely still come from the familiar 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine delivering 68 hp and 92 Nm of torque. Transmission options will be a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). Renault will not provide a turbocharged or CNG version with this update.

The price will start around ₹4.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around ₹20,000 more than the current base model. The Kwid will be one of the most affordable hatchbacks in India with better design and equipment list despite the price hike.

With fresh styling and technology, new features and convenience features, and a better safety package, the Renault Kwid facelift in 2026 will help it to differentiate itself in India’s highly competitive entry-level hatchback market. Details will be announced at launch on July 3 for variants and features when it is available for sale.
