The new Tiago EV has been upgraded with a bolder appearance and high-end features, as well as safety features that will help Tata to maintain its position in the affordable electric vehicle category. The new Tiago petrol and CNG variants are available at Rs 4.69 lakh and Rs 5.79 lakh, respectively.

The launch comes at a time when budget-friendly hatchbacks are looking to capture back the attention of consumers after a years-long period of being swamped by SUVs. Tata Motors claims that Tiago has already reached over 75,000 users and has travelled over 2.3 billion kilometres in its history.

Refreshed Exterior Design

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV is getting several cosmetic changes, which make the hatchback much more modern. In front of the battery panel, there are eyebrow-style LED daytime running lamps and sleeker LED headlamps. The grille has been redesigned with a body-coloured closed-off treatment that helps to emphasise its electric identity.

The bumper has also been updated with black vertical inserts, while the rear gets the most dramatic transformation in the form of a connected LED taillamp setup stretching across the width of the tailgate. Tata has also added a gloss-black accent strip, redesigned rear bumper, shark-fin antenna, aerodynamic alloy wheels, gloss-black ORVMs, and a sporty spoiler to enhance the car’s premium appeal.

The Tiago EV is available in six exterior colours -- Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pure Grey and Pristine White.

Premium Cabin and New Features

Inside the cabin, Tata has radically modernised the Tiago EV’s interior. The dashboard design has been cleaned up and now uses better materials and textures. A black-and-grey dual-tone theme for the hatchback and floating-style infotainment screen are added to get that contemporary feel.

The biggest addition is the 360-degree camera system, which is something that is not seen in most of the budget electric hatchbacks in India. The updated Tiago EV also comes with rear AC vents, auto-folding ORVMs, cruise control, a front armrest, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

The car now supports over 40 connected car features and Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. ev logo. The redesigned centre console also improves storage practicality inside the cabin.

Enhanced Safety Package

The safety has also been significantly improved in the 2026 update. The Tiago EV now has six airbags as standard in all variants. Other safety tools include Electronic Stability Program (ESP), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist and traction control.

These upgrades make the Tiago EV one of the better-equipped electric hatchbacks in the entry-level EV category.

Battery, Performance and Charging

The new Tiago EV continues to have two battery pack options. The smaller 19.2kWh battery pack produces 62hp and 110Nm of torque, while the larger 24kWh battery provides 75hp and 114Nm of torque.

Tata claims a certified range of 226 kilometres for the smaller battery version and up to 285 kilometres for the larger battery pack.

Charging performance has also been improved. Tata says the Tiago EV can gain up to 100 kilometres of range in just 18 minutes using fast charging. Both battery versions support DC fast charging so that the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in about 35 minutes using a 30kW charger.

Variants and Pricing

The entry-level Smart version with the 19kWh battery pack is priced at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and the mid-spec Pure+ trim is Rs 8.49 lakh with the smaller battery and Rs 9.49 lakh with the larger 24kWh battery.

The Creative+ variant with the larger battery pack is available at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV, with its new look, premium features and competitive pricing, will be in competition with the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3 in India’s growing affordable EV space.

The latest update is an indication of Tata Motors’ continuing drive to make electric mobility available to people with lower-cost vehicles and have some of the safety features and technology that have been previously available only in the highest-priced vehicles.
