Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Vulcan S in India at ₹8.23 lakh (ex-showroom) and is ₹10,000 more expensive than the previous 2026 model. The new middleweight cruiser has the same overall mechanical package but has quite a few changes, including a new brake disc and colour option.
Kawasaki Vulcan S: What is new?
The 2027 model is more of a refinement than a complete redesign. Kawasaki has kept its cruiser style design, chassis, and suspension setup which is also the same on the bike.
The most obvious change is the Metallic Carbon Gray colour scheme, with subtle green accents. The Vulcan S looks fresher but maintains its sporty-cruiser character.
The motorcycle also gets its braking hardware updated. The 2027 Vulcan S gets smaller brake discs at both ends, which will be one of the major hardware changes for the new model year.
Engine and Performance
The Kawasaki Vulcan S in 2027 features a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 6-speed gearbox.
According to reports, the updated engine has 62.4 Nm peak torque at 6,600 rpm and its maximum power is around 60 bhp at 7,500 rpm. The slight torque increase is to improve the flexibility and everyday riding character of the motorcycle.
The familiar parallel-twin configuration of the engine remains one of the motorcycle’s major strengths to strike a balance between cruiser style and performance riding.
Dimensions and Ride Hardware
The Vulcan S retains its low 705mm seat height, which may make it more accessible for those riders who prefer a relatively accessible cruiser. The suspension setup is also the same, with a telescopic front fork and rear monoshock with preload adjustment.
It is this combination that ensures the Vulcan S will remain a motorcycle for relaxed cruising without moving into the heavyweight-cruiser category.
Price and Deliveries
Kawasaki has priced the 2027 Vulcan S at ₹8.23 lakh ex-showroom, which is ₹10,000 up from the 2026 model. Deliveries will take place in mid-September 2026.
The motorcycle is significantly more expensive than the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, but Kawasaki’s offering is for buyers looking for a more premium Japanese middleweight cruiser.
