The Hector Tomahawk EV is one of MG's most significant launches in recent years and is the launch of the ADAPT multi-NEV platform that can support multiple electrified powertrains. The SUV is available in five-seat and seven-seat configurations, which makes it one of the few electric SUVs in India that can support larger families.

A big feature of the new electric SUV is its 69.2 kWh battery pack, which powers a front-mounted electric motor with a power of around 204hp and 310Nm of torque. MG says that the Hector Tomahawk EV can provide a driving range of 517 km on a single charge, and it is equipped to cope well with city commuting and long-distance travel at MIDC testing conditions. It also claims the SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in about 8.2 seconds.

Hector Tomahawk EV is sleek and futuristic and has that road presence as it is from the Hector brand. It has sleek LED lighting and aerodynamic styling, and a unique front fascia tailored to electric vehicles. Inside is a nice, big room with a big touchscreen infotainment system connected to the car and a big space.

MG has put a lot of comfort and convenience in the Tomahawk EV and has installed a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, connected vehicle technology, high-quality upholstery, and several drive modes. The cabin is designed to provide both drivers and passengers with a comfortable environment, and the length of the journey is of course a factor when it comes to long travels.

All other safety aspects have also been taken into account. The electric SUV has Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, collision warning systems and other driver-support technologies. There are also several airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and advanced braking systems.

Another remarkable feature is vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, which allows the SUV's battery to power external electrical devices. Such a feature can be especially useful on outdoor trips, camping, or emergencies.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is also available under MG’s BaaS ownership model, which lowers the initial purchase cost. Under this scheme, the starting vehicle price can be much reduced, and customers pay separately for battery usage. It aims to make ownership of electric vehicles more accessible to a wide variety of people.

In India, the Hector Tomahawk EV will compete with the emerging electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XEV 9e or other premium vehicles. MG is positioning the Hector Tomahawk EV as a competitor in the fast-growing electric SUV market with a long range, seven-seat practicality, high tech and competitive pricing.

Such a launch is in line with MG Motor’s continued focus on expanding its electric mobility portfolio in India and the increasing demand for technologically advanced and practical electric vehicles. With a claimed range of 517 km, premium features, and a starting price of ₹19.49 lakh, the Hector Tomahawk EV is going to attract both existing SUV buyers and first-time EV customers.
