A Fresh Start for Nissan in India

The Gravite is part of Nissan’s new product roadmap, which includes three upcoming models designed specifically for Indian customers. According to reports, the Gravite will be unveiled in January 2026, with a market launch expected by March 2026. This makes it the first new Nissan model to arrive under the company’s updated strategy.

Nissan has relied heavily on the Magnite for several years, and the introduction of the Gravite signals a strong push to diversify its portfolio and compete more aggressively in the mass‑market space.

Design and Platform

The Gravite is built on the CMF‑A+ platform, the same architecture used for the Renault Triber. However, Nissan has given the MPV its own identity with a refreshed exterior design. Early teaser images show:

  • A new front grille with chrome accents
  • Redesigned headlamps
  • A sculpted bonnet with a hood‑scoop‑like element
  • Updated alloy wheels
  • Functional roof rails
  • A revised rear section with new tail‑lamp styling

These updates aim to give the Gravite a more premium and modern look compared to its platform sibling.

Expected Features and Powertrain

While Nissan has not revealed full specifications yet, the Gravite is expected to share the 1.0‑litre petrol engine used in the Triber. The MPV will likely offer both manual and automatic transmission options, making it suitable for city and family use.

Inside, buyers can expect a practical seven‑seater layout, touchscreen infotainment, connected features, and improved cabin materials, all designed to appeal to budget‑conscious families.

A Key Part of Nissan’s Revival Plan

The Gravite is the first of three new locally manufactured models under Nissan’s “The Arc” business plan, which aims to use India as a major production hub for domestic sales and exports. By entering the compact MPV segment, Nissan hopes to attract a wider customer base and strengthen its long‑term presence in the country.
