Royal Enfield Crosses 3 Lakh Sales in Q1 FY27, Eyes Record 12 Lakh Domestic Sales This Year

Royal Enfield has had a good start to FY27 with sales of 3,01,174 motorcycles in the April–June quarter. It is the second time the company has crossed the three lakh quarterly sales mark and will continue to be India’s leading premium motorcycle manufacturer.

The company recorded 32% year-on-year growth compared with 2,28,779 units sold in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Second Time Above the 3 Lakh Mark

Royal Enfield first crossed the 3 lakh quarterly sales milestone during the October–December 2025 festive season when it sold 3,00,426 motorcycles.

This performance is even more important because it was achieved during the first quarter of the financial year, which is generally less affected by festive demand.

Such a high number of motorcycles indicates sustained customer demand for the company's expanded range of motorcycles.

Strong Domestic Demand

Here in the home market and in the local market, we are seeing healthy demand for this business, and that is always going to be positive.

Popular 350cc motorcycles. Increasing sales of premium models. New customer segments. Greater dealership and service network. Great brand loyalty among motorcycle enthusiasts.

Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, and Himalayan 450 continue to contribute to the company’s overall sales performance.

On Track for 12 Lakh Annual Sales

With more than 3 lakh units sold in the first quarter, Royal Enfield is now on course to achieve around 12 lakh domestic motorcycle sales during FY27 if the current growth momentum continues.

Such a feat would be the highest annual domestic sales in the company's history and further solidify its leadership in the mid-size motorcycle segment.

Growth Driven by Product Strategy

Royal Enfield has been gradually increasing its product portfolio over the past few years and has introduced motorcycles in all categories including:

Classic motorcycles. Adventure touring bikes. Roadsters. Cruisers.

The company’s new approach to the market (which is to change existing models and introduce new platforms) has brought in new buyers and veterans.

Export Opportunities

Royal Enfield is also expanding its international sales with exports to Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and North America.

The company has also been growing its global retail footprint and strengthening manufacturing capabilities to support long-term international growth.

Positive Outlook for FY27

Royal Enfield is well positioned for the long run based on:

  • There is continued demand for premium motorcycles.
  • Upcoming product launches.
  • New export markets in the future.
  • Consumer confidence.
  • An interest in leisure and touring motorcycles.

With a strong first-quarter performance and a diversified product portfolio, Royal Enfield is on the verge of another record-breaking year. If current sales trends continue, the iconic motorcycle manufacturer could comfortably surpass the 12 lakh domestic sales milestone, reinforcing its dominance in India's premium motorcycle market.
