When will Slavia facelift be released in India on August 18th, Škoda Auto India said in an official press conference in India and announced it will be the most beautiful and classy of all time and an important mechanical upgrade to the popular mid-size sedan with a new exterior, upgraded interior and a lot of functionality to enhance the driving experience. The new front and rear bumpers are repainted to a sportier look and tail lamps are redesigned and alloy wheels with new alloy wheels and redesigned alloy wheels (with the front and rear bumpers are planned to get a new face and rear bumpers and redesigned to match the new rear bumpers look of new front and rear bumpers as well, the front and rear bumpers are also redesigned.
Inside the cabin the dashboard structure is similar to the previous ones but Škoda has focused more on the in-cabin technology and passenger comfort. The Slavia retains the popular equipment list I previously mentioned, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charger, single-pane sunroof, an eight-speaker audio system and automatic climate control with rear AC vents, safety features like six airbags and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System are still standard.
Under the hood, the biggest headline is reserved for the powertrain options where the punchy 1.0-litre TSI and the robust 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines will continue, but the smaller 1.0-litre motor is getting a major transmission swap. The outgoing six-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be replaced by a modern eight-speed automatic which is the same gearbox that debuted on the new Kushaq to enhance smoother acceleration and relaxed highway cruising, while the performance-focused 1.5-litre TSI engine will continue to get the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and manual options.
The current Skoda Slavia is priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 18.19 lakh, ex-showroom, and the new facelift is expected to have a slight price reduction in line with the new feature list and mechanical upgrades. When it is launched on August 18, the new model will remain in competition with the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City in the mid-size space to get more of the market share and more attention as it has redesigned its look and mechanical capabilities.
