Tata Motors has officially started customer deliveries of the Tata Sierra EV, marking another milestone in the company's growing electric vehicle portfolio. The launch is just weeks after the electric SUV was launched and bookings began, highlighting Tata’s rapid production and delivery schedule.

One of the first Sierra EVs has been delivered in Ahmedabad, where the owner shared images of the vehicle on social media. The customer said the SUV is the first Tata Sierra EV delivered in the city, so it is a landmark for the buyer and Tata Motors.

The delivered vehicle is finished in the striking Nainital Nocturne Blue paint scheme and is said to be the top-spec Empowered AWD that is equipped with the larger 75 kWh battery pack.

Familiar Design with EV-Specific Styling

The Tata Sierra EV retains that iconic silhouette of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart while also including some of the design features of electric vehicles.

At the front of the SUV is a closed-off grille, a redesigned fascia, and a sculpted bumper with a faux skid plate that makes it look more futuristic and modern.

Other exterior highlights include:

  • Night Saber Bi-LED Booster headlamps.
  • Connected full-width LED light bar.
  • Dual-purpose LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs).
  • 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts.
  •  Smooth Sierra-inspired profile.

The overall design combines nostalgia and modern design with the original Sierra with Tata's new EV design language.

Two Battery Pack Options

The Tata Sierra EV is available with two battery pack options:

63 kWh battery
75 kWh battery

According to Tata Motors:

  • 63 kWh battery: MIDC-certified range of 565 km.
  • 75 kWh battery: MIDC-certified range of 665 km.

While official MIDC figures show a very impressive driving range, real-world driving conditions typically yield lower numbers. Based on early driving impressions, the 75 kWh version is expected to offer around 450-500 km of practical driving range depending on driving style, terrain, traffic, and climate conditions.

These driving modes help optimize traction and stability across a variety of road and off-road conditions.

The Tata Sierra EV is priced between:

Driving Experience

For driving experience, the Sierra EV feels comfortable with the handling of the vehicle and is very composed. The SUV is planted at higher speeds, responsive to throttle inputs, and stable in the corners.

The vehicle showed no significant battery life or range during testing and was also rated well by reviewers, which is very good for city commuting and long-distance travel.
