Tata Motors is bringing more luxury features to the Sierra Legend Series with higher-spec versions and more affordable models of the SUV with the new Sierra Legend Series.
The new range starts at 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and includes five new trims: Smart+ L, Pure L, Pure L(O), Pure+ L and Adventure+ L. The Legend Series has 18 variants in the Sierra range. The previous Sierra variants will be sold alongside the new ones.
The Legend Series is in line with Tata’s strategy to make features previously limited to expensive variants available lower down the range. The new trims are priced at a premium of around Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 over the standard versions.
Tata Sierra Legend Series: Price And Variants
The Sierra Legend Series can be found in five main trim levels.
Smart+ L is priced at 11.99 lakh, and Pure L is priced at 13.79 lakh. Pure L(O) is priced at 14.29 lakh, and Pure+ L is priced at 14.99 lakh. The highest-priced Adventure+ L is priced at 16.99 lakh and all prices are ex-showroom.
The goal of the new lineup is to provide customers with a more gradual path to upgrading. Instead of jumping into a much higher-budget top-end Sierra for premium features, consumers can get a lower or mid-tier Legend Series trim with certain equipment.
Smart+ L And Pure L Get More Features
Even the entry-level Smart+ L is upgraded in terms of several features over the standard Smart+ version.
The trim features leatherette seats and interior trim, auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors, steering-mounted controls, roof rails and wheel covers. Six airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold are included in the standard safety package.
Moving up to the Pure L is a big upgrade. It has a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio system, rear camera with guidelines, cruise control, tyre-pressure monitoring, and rear wash-wipe.
It also has 17-inch alloy wheels, drive modes, and hill descent control on top of that.
The Pure L(O) builds on this with a panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. That makes it the middle option for buyers who want some of the more premium features without going to the higher Pure+ or Adventure+ variants.
Pure+ L Brings Ventilated Seats And Dual-Zone Climate Control
The Pure+ L is a step further into premium territory by providing features that were previously only available on higher Sierra variants.
It has a full leatherette interior, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with thigh-support extension, ventilated front seats and a manual Boss Mode. Dual-zone automatic climate control, a driver-side one-touch anti-pinch window and rear USB-C charging ports are also included.
Indeed, the Pure+ L will also be a point of entry for Sierra buyers who want the 160hp 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with automatic transmission.
Adventure+ L Gets The Most Premium Equipment
At the top of the Legend Series is the Adventure+ L.
This version has many features that are found in the Sierra's higher-end versions, like a 360-degree HD surround-view system with blind-spot view, front parking sensors, and LED fog lamps with cornering technology.
It also has frequency-dependent damping suspension, Normal, Wet, and Rough terrain modes, larger digital displays, a two-stage reclining rear seat, rear armrest, ambient lighting, a cooled glovebox, and wireless charging.
The Adventure+ L thus tries to provide more room in the cabin and also to help visibility and capability for all driving conditions.
Tata Sierra Legend Series: Engine And Gearbox Options.
The Sierra Legend Series is still based on the SUV's powertrain family.
Engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Depending on the variant and engine, customers can opt for a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, a six-speed automatic, and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The Legend Series doesn’t have a major mechanical overhaul. Tata Motors has focused on changing the equipment and feature distribution across the line.
The Pure+ L has the 160hp turbo-petrol automatic, and the Adventure+ L also has the 106hp petrol DCT powertrain.
More Premium Features At Lower Prices
With the Sierra Legend Series, Tata Motors is essentially restructuring how features are distributed across the SUV's variants.
And new features like ventilated seats, powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, advanced cameras, and terrain modes are now available at a lower price point than before. It is the company’s “Luxury, From The Base” strategy to bring premium cabin and technology features to a wider range of Sierra customers.
The existing Sierra lineup will continue alongside the Legend Series, giving buyers the option of choosing between the standard variants and the new feature-rich L trims.
With prices starting at Rs. 11.99 lakh, the Tata Sierra Legend Series gives the mid-size SUV a wider model range and also brings a wide range in terms of higher-end features.
