TVS Apache RTX 300 has entered the European market with its launch in Italy. The adventure motorcycle retains the same engine and mechanical package as the India-spec model, but TVS is offering the bike in a different variant structure for Italian customers, and equipment upgrades on the higher-spec version.
The Apache RTX 300 is available in Italy in two variants - Essential and Adventurer. The price starts at EUR 4,890, which is about 5.43 lakh according to the conversion mentioned. The higher-spec Adventurer variant is priced at EUR 5,290, around 5.88 lakh. For comparison, the Apache RTX 300 is priced at 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
TVS Apache RTX 300: Italy Variants And Prices
The entry-level Essential variant is the cheaper option in Italy and is available in black and white colours. Adventurer is only green.
The biggest difference between the two versions is the equipment list. The Adventurer version has several additional features such as a bidirectional quickshifter, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), corrosion-resistant chain and adjustable rear suspension.
These features are not included on the Italian-spec Essential. Despite being the entry-level version, the Essential still has a good package of technology. A 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, traction control, four riding modes and cruise control are available on both variants.
That means buyers of the Essential version still get many of the essential electronic features of the Apache RTX 300 and those who purchase the Adventurer get more hardware and convenience features.
Same 299cc Engine
Mechanically, the European-spec Apache RTX 300 continues with the same 299cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine used in the India-spec motorcycle. The engine produces 35.5 bhp and 28.5 Nm of peak torque.
Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle has a trellis frame and upside-down front forks and rear monoshock, all the necessary tools that are expected for an adventure motorcycle.
The bike runs on a 19-inch alloy wheel at the front and 17-inch alloy wheels at the rear. This combination is designed to balance stability on the road with the ability to tackle less predictable surfaces.
Braking And Safety Features
Disc brakes at both ends handle braking duties and dual-channel ABS are included in the package. The motorcycle also supports turning off the ABS on the rear wheel, which can be beneficial for riders on loose or off-road surfaces.
Traction control and selectable riding modes also help riders to tailor the motorcycle to the conditions. Cruise control is also a key feature in both Italian variants and the Apache RTX 300 is better suited for longer-distance touring.
India vs Italy-Spec Apache RTX 300
The difference between the Indian and Italian versions is not the engine or basic chassis setup but the way TVS has structured the variants and equipment. The Italian market gets Essential and Adventurer trims which add features like a bidirectional quickshifter, TPMS and adjustable rear suspension.
A big difference in pricing is also noted. The Apache RTX 300 starts at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India while the Italian version starts at EUR 4,890. Taxes, regulations, logistics, import costs and market-specific equipment have a big impact on prices in different markets.
With the Apache RTX 300 now available in Italy, TVS has taken another step in expanding its adventure motorcycle portfolio in Europe. The European-spec motorcycle retains the core mechanical package of the India-spec bike while giving buyers a choice between a standard Essential model and an Adventurer model.
