The Karnataka government has given the final warning to ration card holders across the state — complete re-verification and e-KYC by November 10, 2026. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rizwan Arshad reportedly said that the deadline will not be extended again.
More than 41.33 lakh beneficiaries are yet to complete the mandatory e-KYC process, it said, adding that eligible households should act before the deadline as otherwise ration card services and welfare benefits may be disrupted.
The re-verification is meant to weed out duplicate, inactive, and ineligible ration cards so government benefits reach genuine beneficiaries. Officials reportedly said November 10 will be the last date after several extensions.
Will Grilahakshmi and Anna Bhagya Benefits be Stopped?
If e-KYC is not done within the deadline, then the name of the member concerned may be deleted from the ration card or the card may be temporarily suspended depending on verification rules.
This could affect access to subsidised or free food grains under the public distribution system; beneficiaries of Karnataka’s Gruha Lakshmi and Anna Bhagya schemes (if eligibility or benefit processing is tied to valid ration card records) may also be affected.
However, beneficiaries need to understand that there may be some impact on individual records and an automatic cancellation of benefits for every household; the action will depend on what the department rules on verification and eligibility.
How to Complete Ration Card e-KYC Online
Eligible beneficiaries may be able to do the process at home using the Anna Seve mobile application (if an Aadhaar-linked mobile number and other details are available).
Follow these steps:
- Download the Anna Seve application and Aadhaar Face RD application from the Google Play Store.
- Open Anna Seve and click Self Citizen.
- Enter your ration card number and verify your registered mobile number using OTP.
- Give Aadhaar details of family members whose e-KYC is pending.
- Follow the instructions to complete live face authentication using your mobile phone’s camera.
- Repeat this for every family member who needs to complete e-KYC.
The app-based authentication may be available depending on the beneficiary’s details, device compatibility, and the department’s current process.
How to Complete e-KYC at a Fair Price Shop
People who have technical problems while using the mobile app or whose mobile numbers are not linked to Aadhaar can go to their local fair price shop.
The process is straightforward:
- Go to the nearest authorised ration shop with your ration card and Aadhaar card.
- Ask the shop operator to check pending e-KYC status of family members.
- Complete biometric authentication through the department’s authorised AHARA system.
- Provide a fingerprint or iris scan, as required.
- Check that the e-KYC process was recorded successfully.
- Beneficiaries can complete the biometric process at a fair price shop free of cost.
What Should Ration Cardholders Do Before November 10?
With the deadline reported to be looming ahead of us, households should check the e-KYC status of every member on the ration card rather than verifying only the head of the family. If any member’s verification is pending, then they should complete it through the available authorised method as early as possible.
Beneficiaries should also keep any confirmation or acknowledgement they get after the process is complete. If they have trouble, they can contact their local fair price shop or Food and Civil Supplies Department for help.
