And rain will continue to fall in some parts of Karnataka, as the northeast monsoon is still active. Bengaluru and some parts of South Interior Karnataka are likely to see rainfall until October 22, which would be good news and a relief from the warm weather, but will slow travel and outdoor activities in Bengaluru and other parts of South Interior Karnataka. The rain will continue to hit Bengaluru.

Bengaluru also experienced rainfall in different parts of the city, which has relieved the urban residents who have been experiencing warm and sunny weather for a long time. It also rained on Thursday in Bengaluru city and in other parts of Bengaluru, which cooled down the neighbourhoods, and there was also some rain in some areas today.

There will be more rain in the future, so it is expected to be more like this. Residents should be prepared for changing weather conditions and be on guard for rain falling during sunny spells and sudden showers. Rainfall at peak times of day might also affect road movement, especially in places where water is rapidly accumulating. We encourage commuters to take extra time to drive on wet roads and be careful if visibility is low or thunderstorms are occurring.

The IMD forecast shows coastal Karnataka will experience rainfall in the next few days. Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi districts will also have a good chance of rainfall on October 17, 18, and 19. Rainfall will also occur at some places in these districts on October 20, 21, and 22.

The monsoon activity continues to lead to cloudy and sometimes intermittent rain in coastal areas. Residents, fishermen, and those who plan outdoor activities should be on the lookout for official weather updates, especially if thunderstorms or strong winds develop. People going to coastal areas should also be prepared for wet road conditions and possible disruptions during periods of heavy rain.

Several districts in North Interior Karnataka are also likely to experience rainfall during the forecast period. Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Bagalkote, Raichur, Gadag, Koppal, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, and Yadgir districts are among the districts mentioned in the forecast.

On October 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, and 22, there will be isolated rain, and on October 19, many parts of the region will see some rain. Weather conditions will vary between districts: at some places, we expect to see cloudy skies and occasional showers, while at others, it may remain relatively dry. Farmers and residents living in rural areas should monitor the local forecast before starting agricultural work and other outdoor activities.

South Interior Karnataka is expected to remain among the areas experiencing continued rainfall between October 17 and 22. The districts mentioned in the forecast are Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Hassan, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Tumakuru, Ramanagara, Ballari, Chitradurga, Davanagere, and Vijayanagara.

Many areas in these districts are expected to experience rain during the six-day period. Bengaluru and the surrounding districts may continue to have changing weather, with rain falling occasionally but not necessarily lasting throughout the day. Drivers who travel between districts should check the latest forecast before leaving, as waterlogging or low visibility may be present in the places they are driving.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has said that northeast monsoon rainfall is likely to continue in parts of the state over the next seven days based on the IMD forecast. Light to moderate rain may be accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds in some areas. When thunderstorms occur, people should avoid open areas and stay away from trees and exposed electrical equipment.

Drivers should slow down on rain-soaked roads and keep away from trees during lightning. Rain may bring relief from warm weather, but weather patterns can change quickly. Residents of Karnataka, particularly in Bengaluru and the southern districts, should follow the official IMD and KSNDMC updates for the latest district-level forecasts and any warnings issued during the next few days.
