Amit Shah to Announce Projects Worth ₹1,475.31 Crore
One of the major highlights of Amit Shah’s visit is announcement and launch of development projects worth ₹1,475.31 crore.
During the visit, Home Minister will dedicate completed projects to public; inaugurate initiatives and lay foundation stones for several new development works.
The projects, according to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, will give a new impetus to Uttarakhand’s development journey.
The investment is big for a state where geography makes infrastructure development difficult. Better connectivity, public facilities and stronger infrastructure are still key priorities for the state and central governments.
Uttarakhand Completes 26 Years of Statehood
Uttarakhand will complete 26 years as a separate state on November 9, 2026. It was carved out after decades of demand for separate administrative and political representation for the hill regions of then Uttar Pradesh.
Over the years Uttarakhand has become an important destination for religious tourism, adventure tourism and nature based travel. Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath and other destinations attract millions of visitors every year.
The anniversary gives us a chance to look back at what has been achieved but also where there is more work to do (employment, education, health care and infrastructure in remote mountain districts).
