Canva has officially released Canva Code 2.0 for all users on its AI-powered coding platform available worldwide for Free, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans. We don’t need coding knowledge to build apps, websites, and interactive apps, so our users just need to describe what they want to do in simple language.
The launch is also a major step in Canva's AI capabilities, and brings code generation in the familiar drag-and-drop design mode.
Build Websites and Apps Without Writing Code
With Canva Code 2.0, users can design websites, applications and interactive web elements by entering simple text prompts. Rather than writing code on their own, they only need to describe their idea and Canva's AI automatically generates the project for them.
Whether that be a landing page, portfolio website, interactive calculator, quiz or business dashboard, the platform is for beginners or professionals to be able to build digital products in minutes.
In contrast to traditional AI code tools, Canva incorporates the generated code into its visual editor and lets users continue editing their projects without leaving the platform.
AI Meets Canva's Design Tools
One of the biggest improvements in Canva Code 2.0 is marrying AI coding and Canva's design ecosystem.
Users can quickly change layouts, fonts, colours, animations, images and text in Canva's drag-and-drop editor. If they want more changes, they can simply ask Canva's AI assistant to make specific changes to them through natural language prompts.
That is, when users no longer need to switch from one design and development tool to another in order to create interactive web experiences.
50+ Ready-to-Use Templates
For those who don’t want to start from scratch, Canva now has more than 50 pre-built Code templates.
These templates can be customised with Canva's huge library of graphics, stock photos, videos, icons and fonts or with users' own uploaded content. The templates are designed to speed up development, but also give users complete creative control over their creation.
Import Existing HTML Projects
A major new feature in Canva Code 2.0 is HTML Import.
Users who have already written websites or web applications on other AI coding platforms can import their existing HTML files directly into Canva. Once imported, the projects can be fully editable in Canva's visual editor, without rebuilding them from scratch.
Users can even ask Canva's AI to edit specific parts of imported projects, making updates faster and easier.
Real-Time Collaboration
Also, it enhances collaboration.
Several team members can work on the same project simultaneously, edit designs, leave comments and give feedback in real time. This makes Canva Code 2.0 accessible to businesses, marketing teams, educators and students working on shared projects.
Every website or application created using Canva Code is also fully responsive, and the creators can preview how their projects will appear on desktops, tablets and smartphones before publishing.
Flexible Publishing Options
Once a project is complete, users can publish it through a free Canva domain, connect their own custom domain, or securely share it within their organisation using single sign-on (SSO).
The platform is capable of serving all use cases such as business websites, client presentations, online portfolios, internal dashboards and educational resources.
Available to Every Canva User
Perhaps the biggest advantage is accessibility. Canva has made Code 2.0 available for all subscription levels, including the free plan.
By combining AI-powered code generation, HTML importing, collaborative editing and one-click publishing into one platform, Canva aims to make website and app development much more accessible for users of all levels of skill.
With Canva Code 2.0, developing digital experiences is no longer limited to developers. From creating your first website to just fine-tuning a project already in progress, the platform provides an easy way to turn ideas into fully functional web experiences using AI-based web experiences.
