Lava has entered India's affordable smartphone market with two new smartphones, Virat V1 5G and Virat V1. The smartphones are designed for budget-oriented customers and have big screens, long battery life, and a clean Android interface to experience a smooth day-to-day life.
The Lava Virat V1 5G starting price is ₹11,999 and the Virat V1 (4G) is priced at ₹8,999. Both models will be available through Flipkart and Lava's online store from July 31.
The 6.75-inch HD+ display is intended for video streaming, gaming, and everyday browsing. The Virat V1 5G has a 120Hz refresh rate, so there is better scrolling and responsiveness, while the 4G version has a regular refresh rate for regular use.
The UNISOC T8200 chipset powers the Virat V1 5G with 4GB of RAM with virtual RAM support for multitasking and 64GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card. The Virat V1 (4G) has a processor that is optimized for daily smartphone uses like web browsing, social media, messaging, and video playback.
Battery performance is also a big focus for Lava. The Virat V1 5G has a 6,000mAh battery, while the Virat V1 has a 5,000mAh battery. Both have a good lifespan of a day or two with regular use, so students, professionals, and users who have fewer charging interruptions can enjoy them.

The camera on both smartphones has a 13MP AI-assisted dual rear camera system capable of taking nice images with intelligent image enhancement for clear photos. A 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls is also available, which is accurate and reliable for everyday communication and sharing on social media.
Lava has also equipped both models with an IP64 rating, which provides protection against dust and water splashes.
The smartphones run on a near-stock Android experience with minimal pre-installed applications, offering a cleaner interface, quicker performance, and timely software updates. Other features like face unlock, virtual RAM support, and modern connectivity options make for a better user experience.
Lava is targeting India's fast-growing budget smartphone market with its attractive pricing, premium-looking designs, reliable battery capacity, and 5G support in the higher-end model. The Virat V1 series will compete with popular devices from Redmi, Realme, Motorola, Poco, and Samsung in the sub-₹15,000 category.
For consumers needing a good, compact Made-in-India smartphone that provides solid day-to-day performance, reliable battery life, and a clean Android experience, the Lava Virat V1 lineup offers a strong value proposition.
