Motorola seems to be getting ready to expand its foldable phone portfolio beyond the familiar Razr clamshell design. The company’s first wide-format or book-style foldable has been leaked in a new round of leaks and many features and design details have been revealed. The device is now being referred to as the Motorola Razr Flex and is said to be locked by the internal codename Parker.
If Motorola were to provide the new foldable with a new release date in mid-December 2026, then it would be announced around mid-December 2026. The company has not officially confirmed the retail name, specifications, launch date or pricing for the smartphone, so it is reasonable to see the leaks as leaks rather than the product details.
One of the most interesting features Motorola’s new foldable (which is supposedly going to be the biggest one) is its huge 6.92-inch OLED internal display. It is also expected to support a 165Hz refresh rate and as such would be particularly appealing to users who are used to smooth animations, scrolling and gaming. The display is also expected to have a resolution of 1,728 x 2,364 pixels.
A 165Hz refresh rate would give Motorola’s new foldable on paper a very nice specification. Most high-end smartphones and foldable devices today currently have a refresh rate of 120Hz so a 165Hz panel would be a very unusual choice. The practical benefit is software optimization and app support for games, but compatible games and animations would be smoother on the higher refresh rate screen.
The leaked specifications also suggest that Motorola could take a slightly different approach to the cover display. The foldable is expected to have a 4.97-inch OLED external screen with a resolution of 1,736 x 1,140 pixels. Its relatively compact dimensions could indicate that Motorola is focusing on a wider, shorter form factor rather than simply creating a very large conventional book-style foldable.
Under the hood, the Razr Flex is said to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The chipset would put the device in the flagship segment of the industry and would provide the processing power needed for demanding gaming, artificial intelligence, multitasking and productivity applications.
The current leak indicates a configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. Motorola has not yet said whether or not there will be other memory or storage options in the future. If the configuration is true, the world's best processing hardware and 12GB RAM could make this device ideal for users who intend to use the large internal display for multiple applications.
Battery capacity is another major point of the reported specifications. Motorola’s wide foldable could reportedly feature a 5,000mAh dual-cell battery. Such a large battery will be especially important for a foldable with a high-refresh rate internal screen, as gaming, video streaming and multitasking are all more vital to battery life.
The charging setup is also expected to have 50W wired charging, via USB Power Delivery, and 25W Qi2 wireless charging. Motorola has yet to officially confirm these charging specifications. The 5,000mAh capacity could also require a relatively large internal footprint, especially considering the components and hinge mechanism required in a foldable smartphone.
Design-wise, the leaked information suggests the phone could measure about 12.6mm when folded. That would make it a relatively substantial device compared to some thinner foldable smartphones. The additional thickness could potentially provide more room for the battery and internal components, but the final dimensions will only be known once Motorola officially reveals the handset.
Photography could be another focus area. The Razr Flex is expected to have a dual rear camera setup with two 50-megapixel cameras. The leaked specifications also mention 32-megapixel selfie cameras in the internal and external displays. Motorola has not yet revealed the camera sensors, lenses or imaging features, so the real photography capabilities are not clear yet.
With regard to pricing, there is no firm India price for Motorola’s wide-format foldable. Motorola has not announced whether it will be available in India or when it will be available. The mid-December 2026 launch date is still an unofficial one and not an official one.
Motorola already competes in India’s premium smartphone market with flagship processors, but a foldable would fall in a different price category because of its flexible OLED panel, hinge mechanism and specialised construction. The company’s current premium smartphones cannot be used as a direct indicator of the eventual Razr Flex price.
If the leaked specifications are correct, Motorola’s new wide foldable could have an impressive high-refresh rate OLED display, flagship-level processing, a big battery and a high-quality camera setup. The 165Hz screen in particular might be one of the biggest talking points.
For now, however, Motorola has not officially confirmed the Razr Flex name, Parker codename, launch date, India availability or leaked specifications. More details will emerge if the company gets closer to an official announcement later in 2026.
