Redmi is adding Note 17 phones to its portfolio with the launch of Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max on September 15 in India as part of its strategy to stay in the upper mid-range smartphone market.
The launch will take place shortly after the standard Redmi Note 17 5G launched in India. The new Pro models are expected to have a high battery life, high durability, and good display quality, with Redmi already announcing a few of the key features ahead of the launch.
The biggest highlight is the massive battery capacity. Redmi Note 17 Pro series is confirmed to carry a battery of up to 10,000mAh and Redmi is able to provide more than four days use in light use.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Launch Time And Where To Watch.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series will be launched in India on September 15th at 12 PM IST. Redmi India's YouTube channel or Xiaomi's official website can be used to watch the launch.
The lineup will consist of two smartphones, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. Both devices will be available in India via Amazon, Xiaomi’s official online store and authorised retail outlets in the future.
The company has kept the final India pricing under wraps until the launch. This means the official prices and storage configurations will be confirmed during the event.
However, there are already some signs that consumers may have to expect. The Redmi Note 17 Pro could start around Rs 39,000 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version (up to a range of Rs 2,500) and the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model could be around Rs 42,000 (up to a range of Rs 2,500).
10,000mAh Battery And Rugged Build.
Battery life is expected to be the biggest selling point of the new Redmi phones.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will have a 10,000mAh battery and will support 100W fast charging. The standard Pro model will also have a big battery as well with a 9,000mAh-class battery and 67W charging.
Redmi is also putting a lot of emphasis on durability. The company confirms an IP69K rating for the series of phones to be resistant to dust and water. Corning Gorilla Glass and TÜV SÜD 5-Star Titan Quality certification will also be included in the phones, the company's pre-launch announcement said.
The Pro Max is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, while the Redmi Note 17 Pro is going to use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. Both processors place the phones in the upper mid-range segment rather than the flagship category.
The display is another key feature. The Redmi Note 17 Pro will have a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Pro Max will also have the same large AMOLED display, as well.

Camera And Other Features To Expect
On the camera front, the Redmi Note 17 Pro series will have a dual rear camera setup. The Pro Max will have a 50-megapixel main rear camera, and the standard Pro will also come with a 50-megapixel main camera.
The smartphones are also expected to come with large RAM and storage configurations, but the exact combinations for the Indian market will be confirmed by Redmi during the launch.
A very large battery, high-refresh-rate display and rugged build indicate Redmi is trying to appeal to users who value endurance and durability more than flagship-level performance.
The pricing will be of particular importance. The new Pro models could be far more expensive than the previous Redmi Note Pro phones. If the expected prices are right, the new models could compete with smartphones from OnePlus, Nothing, Vivo and other brands in a more premium price segment.
For buyers, the official launch will answer some of the biggest remaining questions, including the exact India prices, storage variants, sale dates, launch offers and complete specifications.
At 12 p.m. today, consumers can watch Redmi India's official livestream of the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max launch for the Indian market. The two smartphones are expected to be viewed mainly for their huge batteries, rugged construction, and large displays, so battery-centric users will be the primary audience for the new Note series.
