Redmi has launched its new Note series smartphones in India. Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G are the new models with large AMOLED displays, Snapdragon processors, improved cameras, and the biggest batteries in the Redmi Note range.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series also runs on Android 16 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3. The Pro Max has a huge 10,000mAh battery and 100W fast charging, while the standard Pro has a 9,000mAh battery and 67W charging.
The phones are available in various configurations with the Redmi Note 17 Pro as the more affordable option and the Pro Max having a high-end design.
Redmi Note 17 Pro, Pro Max Price In India
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G is priced at ₹36,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at ₹39,999.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G starts at ₹49,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The higher 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at ₹55,999.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro will go on sale in India from 17 September and the Pro Max from 23 September. Both phones will be available on Mi.com, Amazon India and Xiaomi Retail.
Since the Pro Max is much more expensive than the standard Pro and has a bigger battery, faster charging, and a more powerful Snapdragon processor, the Pro Max is very much more expensive.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Specifications.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max has a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and is designed to be more visible outdoors in bright.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. It has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The camera setup is a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. There is a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
The battery is the most important feature. The Pro Max has a 10,000mAh battery and 100W HyperCharge. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging. Redmi will also ship a 100W charger in the box.
The phone also supports 5G, Bluetooth 6.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. It has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support.
Redmi Note 17 Pro specifications
The Redmi Note 17 Pro shares much of the Pro Max's design and display. It has the same 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness.
However, it uses a different processor. The Redmi Note 17 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It has 128GB and 256GB storage options.
The phone has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera is 32MP in Hindustan Times' specifications.
Battery capacity is another major difference. The Redmi Note 17 Pro has a 9,000mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge and 22.5W wired reverse charging. Interestingly, Redmi ships a 100W charger in the box while the phone itself supports 67W charging.
The phone is available in Stealth Black, Cloud Blue, and Purple Vibe colour options. It also has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Both devices have Android 16 with HyperOS 3, providing Xiaomi's latest software experience to users.

Pro Max focuses on Battery And Performance.
Indeed, battery capacity and processing power are the main differences between the two models.
The Pro Max has the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and a battery of 10,000mAh with 100W charging. The standard Pro uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and a battery of 9,000mAh with 67W charging.
However, both phones have the same large 6.83-inch AMOLED display and similar rear camera configuration.
With the new Note 17 Pro series of phones, Redmi is putting battery life at the core of the pitch. The 10,000mAh battery on the Pro Max is particularly attractive for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming videos, traveling, or using their phones for work.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro series will now compete in India's increasingly crowded mid-range smartphone segment. With the Pro starting at around ₹40,000 and the Pro Max around the ₹50,000 mark, buyers will have to decide whether the larger battery, faster charging, and improved chipset of the Pro Max justify the higher price.
