Zoho has launched Classes 2.0, a new version of its online learning platform that will take teaching and learning more interactive, efficient and accessible.
It will also have an AI tutor, AI-assisted course builder and free licences for eligible government institutions in line with Zoho’s focus on digital education.
The new release comes at a time when educational institutions are increasingly adopting technology to enhance classroom experiences. Schools, colleges and training organisations are looking for smarter solutions that simplify course management while improving student engagement.
One of the main highlights of Classes 2.0 is the AI Tutor, a virtual learning assistant. Students will be able to ask questions, get explanations for complex topics and receive immediate academic support, and get the tutors’ help without waiting for instructors to be available. This feature is designed to supplement classroom teaching rather than replace them and students will learn concepts as they go along at their own pace.
Zoho has also released an AI-powered Course Builder that allows teachers and trainers to create structured learning material in significantly less time. The tool also assists teachers in planning lessons, creating content outlines, preparing quizzes and creating learning modules. It minimizes administrative work on the part of instructors and more time is spent teaching and interacting with students.
Another new big deal is Zoho’s new policy of giving free licences to government institutions (public schools, colleges and other government-run organisations) to access advanced education technologies. The initiative will help in promoting digital learning in remote regions and encourage greater adoption of online education platforms for all.
The platform still has essential learning management capabilities such as live virtual classes, attendance tracking, assignment submission, grading systems, discussion forums and progress monitoring. The addition of AI capabilities further strengthens its position as an all-in-one solution for educational institutions.
📣 We're happy to announce Zoho Classes 2.0—an AI-powered academic LMS built for educational institutions. It helps bring teaching, learning, student success, and institutional administration together on one platform. 😇

Zoho said that artificial intelligence was properly integrated with the goal of helping teachers and learners and that user privacy and data security were respected. AI tools are designed to enhance productivity and enhance learning outcomes, it said, not to replace human instruction.
The education technology sector has seen rapid growth in the last few years in terms of hybrid learning models and demand for flexible education solutions. AI-based platforms are at the forefront of this change– providing personalized learning experiences, automating repetitive tasks and offering students real-time academic support.
Zoho will be able to expand its reach into the global edtech market and serve educational institutions of all sizes with Classes 2.0. A combination of intelligent tutoring, simplified course creation and free government access is the company’s core philosophy to make good digital education affordable and inclusive.
As schools, universities and professional training providers continue to embrace digital transformation, Zoho’s new platform upgrade could be a major factor in how online education is to be delivered to students globally.
