Rescue teams use gas cutters to free trapped passengers.
Some passengers were trapped in the bus after the collision and had to be rescued. Emergency personnel used gas cutting equipment and other tools and helped the injured passengers who could not get out on their own to open the window for them to get out of the damaged bus.
Ambulances transported the injured to the government hospital in Simga. Police personnel and rescue teams came together for the emergency response at the scene.
The number of injured was initially eight or more, and some reports indicated that between eight and 10 people may have been injured. The actual number and the condition of the injured will be confirmed by updated official information.
Authorities are also trying to find out the identities of those killed and injured. Details of their identities and medical conditions were not disclosed in the initial reports.
Police Investigation of Accident.
Law enforcement investigators are looking into what happened in the collision, such as how the bus approached the truck and the warning arrangements at the location.
Based on the preliminary report, the truck had broken down and it was parked on the road with traffic cones close by. Of course, that information alone does not prove that the accident was caused by driver error, visibility conditions, vehicle-related issues or other factors.
The investigators will need to determine the sequence of events before reaching any conclusions about responsibility.
The accident again puts the danger of disabled cars on busy roads in focus. Proper warning signals, visible reflective markings, adequate warning distances and safe positioning of broken-down vehicles can help to alert approaching drivers to the danger of collisions and help reduce the number of collisions.

Drivers approaching a stationary or disabled vehicle need sufficient warning to slow down and manoeuvre safely. Heavy vehicles must also follow appropriate procedures to warn other road users when a vehicle becomes immobilised.
The incident for passengers highlights the need to wear seat belts, such as those available and fitted in the seats and seat belts everywhere and that are available and fitted in buses with them.
