The match looked like it was over when Pakistan was struggling at 154 for nine. Shadab and Haris Rauf were able to make up for it and score an excellent partnership to turn the game around and take a memorable victory for the hosts.

England Score 241 runs in the first innings

England batted first and were bowled out for 241 runs in 46.4 overs. Their innings started poorly as Pakistan’s bowlers took three early wickets, putting England in a position of 19 for three.

Ben Duckett helped England recover with a strong innings of 105 runs from 111 balls. He took 10 fours and two sixes and kept the scoreboard moving despite the early setbacks.

Sam Curran also played an important role and scored 42 runs from 52 balls. He supported Duckett and helped England build a useful partnership in the middle overs.

England appeared to finish strong but Pakistan still took wickets. Gus Atkinson scored an unbeaten 36 from 28 balls to take England to 241 before the innings was over.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was Pakistan’s leading bowler, taking four wickets for 46 runs. Arafat Minhas and Razaullah each took two wickets.

Pakistan Lose Nine Wickets During the Chase

Pakistan started their chase of 242 runs hoping to secure another victory in the competition. But England’s bowlers made regular breakthroughs and put the home team under serious pressure.

Pakistan lost wickets at critical moments and struggled to make partnerships. The team fell to 154 for nine, and then needed 88 runs with only one wicket left.

At that stage England appeared to be on the verge of winning the match. Pakistan had very little room for error and the pressure was firmly on Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf.

Shadab Khan Scores an Unbeaten 113

Shadab refused to give up and continued to attack the England bowlers. He incorporated powerful shots with disciplined batting and found boundaries when Pakistan needed to increase the scoring rate.

His unbeaten 113 came from 96 balls and included 13 fours and five sixes. The innings was the most important one in this match and gave Pakistan hope when defeat looked inevitable.

Shadab got excellent support from Haris Rauf who remained at the crease and scored seven runs. While Rauf could not score much, he was there for Shadab to continue the chase.

Record Partnership Seals Pakistan’s Victory

The pair added an unbeaten 89 runs for the tenth wicket, which is the highest tenth-wicket partnership in a successful ODI chase.

The finish was tense, and Pakistan had to stay focused until the last runs were scored. Shadab’s determination and Rauf’s support helped the team to 243 for nine in 47.1 overs.

Pakistan won by one wicket with 17 balls left. The result turned a match that appeared to be England’s into a memorable victory for the home side.

What the result means for both teams?

The win gave Pakistan their third consecutive win in the tri-series and confirmed their place in the final. Shadab’s performance also showed how important lower-order contributions can be when you are in a tight cricket game.

For England, the defeat was disappointing. Ben Duckett’s century and the bowlers’ strong position during Pakistan’s chase were not enough to secure victory.

Pakistan’s dramatic comeback will be remembered for Shadab’s unbeaten century and the crucial partnership with Haris Rauf. They showed us that a match is never over until the final wicket falls.
