According to the information available, the bus had been parked inside a petrol bunk in the Chitpady area of Udupi town when the theft took place. It is a matter of concern because the person who stole the bus was said to have a uniform similar to that of bus staff.

The suspect was also wearing a helmet when he entered the petrol bunk. CCTV footage also captured the sequence of events, including the removal of the bus from the premises.

Two Suspects Arrived on a Scooter

From the preliminary information we have, two people came in on a scooter to the site. One of them entered the bus and drove it away and the second person followed the stolen vehicle on the scooter.

The way in which the bus was allegedly taken away has drawn attention. Since the suspect was reportedly wearing a bus staff uniform, the person may not have immediately attracted suspicion when approaching the vehicle.

CCTV footage from the petrol bunk will be an important aspect of the investigation as police look for the suspects and identify the sequence of events.

Because of GPS, the stolen bus is tracked

After the bus disappeared, its location was tracked with the vehicle’s GPS. The tracking information helped police find out where the stolen bus was located.

The vehicle was eventually found abandoned in a wooded area near Muddaadi, close to Mudrangadi in Kaup taluk. Udupi City Police recovered the bus from the place.

The recovery of the vehicle through GPS helped end the search operation, and the suspects behind the theft are still at large.

Police Search for Suspects

After the bus has been recovered, Udupi City Police have already started trying to trace the suspects behind the theft.

CCTV footage and other evidence will assist investigators in identifying the suspects. Police are also likely to investigate the movements of the scooter used by the two individuals before and after the incident.

A case has been registered at Udupi City Police Station, and there is an investigation.

The incident also has highlighted the use of GPS tracking systems to find stolen vehicles. In this case, the technology enabled police to find out how close the bus was to being captured from the petrol bunk when it was taken, the report said.

The private bus is on the Mangaluru-Kundapura route and was parked at the petrol bunk in Chitpady before it was stolen. The circumstances surrounding the theft, including how the suspect accessed and drove the bus, are now being investigated.

Police are searching for and apprehending these individuals. A lot more is likely to be revealed as the investigation continues.
