The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) through its ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) has released the recruitment notification for 2026 under Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026. This major recruitment drive aims to fill 244 administrative posts at all ISRO centers, DOS units and autonomous bodies in the country. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through ISRO's official website from July 27, 2026 until August 16, 2026.
The total 244 vacancies are distributed among four administrative cadres: Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and Stenographer. Out of these positions, 113 posts are for Assistants in ISRO centers and 17 positions in autonomous institutions.
The Junior Personal Assistant is in 81 vacancies in ISRO centers and 1 post in autonomous institutions. There are 22 vacancies for UDC and 10 for Stenographer, mostly in Bengaluru. In the Pay Matrix, successful candidates will be placed in Level 4 and will get a basic salary of ₹25,500 per month and allowances from the Central Government as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance.
In terms of eligibility, Assistant or UDC candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a university and the qualification must be completed within the allotted duration of the course. Candidates applying for Junior Personal Assistant or Stenographer posts must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% and a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with at least 60% and minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography.
Computer skills are required in all the administrative positions. As of August 16, 2026, the upper age limit for unreserved (UR) and EWS candidates is 28 years, with up to 31 years for OBCs and up to 33 years for SC and ST candidates. Upper age relaxations are possible as per the Government of India guidelines.
The fee structure is that for each application, there is a processing fee of ₹500 payable by all candidates during online submission via the official Bharatkosh payment portal. Female candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen will receive a full refund of the ₹500 processing fee if they appear for the written examination. Other categories of candidates who take the written exam will also receive a partial refund of ₹400 after the application fee of ₹100 has been deducted.
The selection process for ICRB Recruitment 2026 is a two-stage process– written test and skill test. The written test will be a 150 minute objective test held across 38 cities in India. Based on written test scores, candidates will be selected for the skill test (Computer Literacy Test for Assistant/UDC and Stenography Skill Test for JPA/Steno) in a ratio of 1:5 to the number of vacancies.
The skill test will be qualifying, but final selection and merit ranking will be done based on the written test marks of the candidates who successfully qualify in the skill test.
